Yes! I read it and really enjoyed it!

I have heard soooo many AMAZING things about this one! It's getting me really pumped!

I may join you I bought the book to read over the summer and haven't got around to it.

That works for me, Trisha, except I am 3 hours behind you and I not only work tomorrow but I also have to work the JV and varsity football game. By time I get home it will be about midnight your time or even after. But I will read and post ASAP!

I stopped before chapter 7, Metamorphosis

Wow (view spoiler)[ I can't even imagine facing losing a parent at such a young age

with such a short timeframe. I'm so sad they aren't talking about it more. spending nights reliving memories and stories. the dad isn't spending time passing down "how to make coffee" tips and the such.

I had the exact same thoughts on spoiler "WOW"! I didn't get past the first few pages without crying because (view spoiler)[my own father passed away last year. I remember the knowing he had days left and even at my age and Dad being 89, it was still SO hard on me. I began thinking of all the feelings that each person in the book MIGHT go through and started to cry. LOL (hide spoiler)]

Henry (view spoiler)[I want so badly to know why SHE is the one who supposedly did something so wrong. Since they were only 12, I don't think (I hope) that she cheated on him. I have a feeling it's something way different. What though? Yes, that's my biggest question right now. (hide spoiler)]

The dog (view spoiler)[I have a feeling that since the dog went down the road and not to Henry's, it might belong to Lucy. Just a guess. It seems like Taylor is somehow to blame, at least in part, for her relationships going sour. (hide spoiler)]

Taylors' father(view spoiler)[While I understand that he might not want to bring Taylor and the other kids down by talking about his imminent death, I think he needs to open up the doors to communication. He is relishing in it being a beautiful day, but he's not noticing Taylor's fear, sadness, confusion, and all those feelings that go along with losing someone you love, especially a parent at such a young age. Taylor's mom (view spoiler)[She upset me talking to Taylor about losing her attitude, especially under the circumstances. Does she not know that kids even act up under such circumstances and that perhaps Taylor needs someone to talk to who will simply let her be/feel what she needs to at the time? I felt like she put a huge burden on Taylor's shoulders! (hide spoiler)]

I am going to start with Metamorphosis now and not sure how far I'll read. I wonder if the metamorphosis is her dad's decline in health or Taylor's change in attitude toward Henry or Lucy or perhaps even a change in her relationship with her dad. I'm curious!

I am almost done with "Metamorphosis" and I am (view spoiler)[ glad that Taylor's dad somewhat opened the communication on their trip home. I'm glad that Taylor aired her question: Are you scared?

I am still sad to see everyone going about their "normal" days with it being summer. I mean, come on, my last days on this earth I DON'T want to be a burden to anyone; however, playing board games, swimming, dancing (a favorite of my entire family), singing, listening to my grandkids play guitar, piano, drums, violin and singing Christian songs or oldies, etc. Playing cards, baking, tickling...you name it. The traditions of a family. Some I'd go fishing with, others we'd just talk, we'd hit the movies we girls could cry together watching or the ones that all the boys and girls could laugh together watching. OMG, but to tell the kids go get a job while I stay indoors. Not me!

I think her dad is lying about his "law case." I thought from the get-go that he was working on something for the family, and then he said he's doing a "project," so now I'm almost 100% sure it's for his family and will make me cry again. I cried at the part where she leaned on her dad's shoulder in the car (and they aren't touchy-feely). That was a very precious moment. (hide spoiler)]

I'm going to finish this part of the book and then hit Hunger.

Yes, I am almost sure that's what his project is. It is sad to (view spoiler)[ lose someone you always think of as strong, always there, almost god-like. This is a GREAT book but a tear-jerker for me! (hide spoiler)]
