Hex bursted through the mahogany doors and immediately got to work, pacing around the entrance room so much to do....calculations setting up, study of the Arkenstone, and all before Anne arrives..... the odd man was excited but at the same time stressed.
They had reached the manor, he immediately ran her to the living room, performing minor surgery, after the long painful process he helped her up and guided her to a comfortable velvet couch.
"Oh yes, I'm very sorry for my bad manners!" He extended his hand "My name is Samuel Worthington, and I'm trying to get back to Earth" He said flatly
"Well, believe it or not, I didn't have much of a life there. I want to stay here, with my brother, where we can actually live without being hunte-" she stopped herself.
"You have been forgiven" He knew there was more about her, he could read her "Either way, this is about me getting home, and anyone who else who wants to, and I have the exact thing that got us here" He said, sliding the Arkenstone and showing it to her"
"You make it sound so harsh, that was Aerin's part, I simply brought you here, I am going to run a few harmless tests on you and Anne" He tried to make it sound as least harsh as possible
He caught it and simply said "Thats very impolite" putting back the statue. "Oh an don't try to use your powers, Hex could take them away in an instant.
She froze, glaring at Aerin, and then nodded once, defeated. She had to have strength, if she was to escape. "What kinds of tests do you want to run on me?"
"That would be extreme, if I can't get anything out of the physical tests, I might have to take a look inside your head...."
Terror filled her and she did the first thing she thought might save Anne and her. She ran at him, creating a blade of fire.
She collapsed to the floor limply, eyes wide and frightened. "You're mad," she hissed, through clenched teeth, "Let us go."
"You can't leave, I have recreated the Infinity Gate, if you try to leave out any entrance, including the windows, you would find yourself in an everlasting hallway"
She tried to regain control of herself, to maintain some form of dignity, but she lay face up, paralyzed. "Would we live through the procedure?"
She shuddered on the floor. "You're mad." She wished Anne would help her, or something. Anything. She felt a pit of fear in her stomach.
He reactivated the movement in her but kept the part that controlled the rapid outburst of heat that caused fire magic.
She stood, feeling different, and wiped the tears from her cheeks. Her dress was ripped and torn in so many places from all she'd gone through, but she tilted her head up and kept whatever dignity she had about her.
"I am so very sorry I had to do this to you, your room is up the stairs to the left, you can change if you want"
She left, feeling extremely frightened, and lucky that he hadn't realized the lump in her cloak's hood. She went to her room and changed into a pretty green dress, then changed cloaks and put the lump into the new hood. Finally, she came out again, looking in a stunned way at everything.
Great. That was perfect. The less she knew, the more he couldn't blame her if she got into all the wrong places. She went looking for something, anything to help her get out of here. "El, how you doing?" she asked.
