I think Twilight disgraces the name of literature. the plot had potential (girl falls in love with vampire who is constantly fighting the urge to eat her), but the mediocre, non-developed characters and horrible writing style ruined it from page 1.

I definitly agree with Whisper Marie. I found that it's moral is good vs. evil, us vs. our wants, the story goes far beyond a vamp. wanting to suck the blood out of his girlfriend. I also am crazy 4 Edward

I don't see how you could call it "us v. Our wants" because the entire series is about how bella WANTS Edward, not because he was a great person, but because he was a "bad boy" "dangerous" and "sexy". I think it's a shallow story of teenage lust that is about as romantic as beating yourself over the head with a baseball bat.

That may be a theme of the book, but I think that so many people like twilight not because it's written well (it's not) or because it sends a good message (it doesn't), but because it tells the story of a glamorized version of "love", with enough difficult patches to make it seem real to the audience.

Edward Cullen....Edward Cullen... tries so hard to not suck out the blood of 17-19 year old Isabella Marie Swan.It physically HURTS him to be near her, yet he endures it due to love.Passionate love that is the most pure love you could ask for.Could you imagine, trying to keep yourself from something that you almost HAVE to have and if you refuse it, it causes you actual buring pain?Can you?At all?Can you even imagine the absolute searing pain he goes thru? Just to be with her?

How is twilight anythng new? It's just the same love story that's been around for eons retold with a bloody twist. There is nothing special about a badly written, cheesy, unbelievable story of wimpy lust.

I HATE Twilight!!!! It's trash that gets WAY too much hype for NO STORY and insufferable characters.
Edward is so stalkerish! If anyone read the partial draft of midnight sun, HE OILS BELLA'S WINDOWS.
And it's not really "love." They just automatically fall in love, the minute they meet? No! That's not love!
Oh, and Bella is such a Mary Sue! She always puts herself in peril and is saved by the guy!

A) they did not fall in love automatically. I've read and heard about cases where people fell in love much quiker. If I seem to remeamber correctly, Edward wanted to suck her blood when they met...

C)Mary Sue? OKay... Because you know its being so prim&proper to hang out with vamps. And then, OMIGOSH, get saved by them! I mean, Bella should totally fight the vampires her self! Then, she'll be died, but at least not a Mary Sue (Also, btw, is a really dumb term. People with the name Mary or Sue are not always anti-feminist okay? Those names have been around a lot long then most, so really more feminst have had the name Mary then Ashley or whatever)
