Layla gave a sigh of relief as she collapsed onto one of the oversized cushions. The royal tended to stay away from the courtyard, so she would be safe for now. She unhooked her bag from her shoulder, withdrew a small book, and started to read.
Layla was getting bored. She stood and walked out, heading home so that she could change and attend the meeting; her swim suit was less than appropriate for the occasion.
Later that day, Layla reentered the courtyard, her cheeks still flushed from her meeting with the dark king. Smiling broadly, she sank onto one of the cushions.
Dawn enter the courtyard bored out of her mind. There was absolutely no one around to entertain her so she thought she'd come out her. She saw Layla one of her fellow summer girls on one of the cushions and walked over. "Hello Layla."
Hannah wrote: "((I thought we still were at the dark castle with Layla...?))"((it's after she went to the dark castle))
Hannah wrote: "((Layla can't be in two places at once... I'm confused))"((she's not; it's like several hours after she went to the dark castle))
"Hey Dawn." Layla smiled. She looked up from braiding her hair. "Are the courts still meeting?" she asked, glancing at her handiwork. She sighed, unraveled it, and started again.
She sighed lightly. "If they are I didn't have the pleasure of being apart of it."She told her sitting down next to her gracefully. She'd been busy with her usual business and if they had been meeting she'd missed it sadly. She loved when the courts met it was always fun for her.
Layla sighed. "I was there earlier. It was...interesting." she said, tying off her fish tail braid. She stretched lightly, enjoying the warm sunlight. As fascinating as the dark court, and it's irresistible king, she didn't think that she could give this up. She tipped her head back, smiling.
She rolled her eyes at her response and looked at her with one eyebrow raised and a small grin on her face. "Oh come on now Layla. Give me more than that since I missed out. Interesting how exactly?"She missed it so she figured she live vicariously through her. "What exactly did you do I need to know so I can live vicariously through you for the day."
Layla grinned and leaned forward eagerly. "It was a disaster." she whispered, glancing around to make sure that she wasn't overheard. "The summer and winter courts were furious, and the winter queen...she said that she wasn't afraid of a war." Then she pouted. "I didn't get to hear what else happened; the winter queen sent me to the dark court."
She groaned. "Oh come on seriously she kicked you out then just when the fun part was about to start."She pouted, but then brightened up. "So what happened at the dark court. Did you do anything fun?"She questioned wiggling her eyebrows suggestively.
Layla winked at her, enjoying the gossip. "Maybe I did, maybe I didn't." Layla said, preening slightly. "I will say this; that dark king is very handsome." she said, dreamily gazing off into the distance.
"Layla!"She whined not liking her lack of details in the matter. "That is not enough to go on. I need details Layla details. What did you do? How handsome is handsome?"She told her. "Please Layla please tell me!"She complained. She refused to let Layla get away with so few details. She needed to know more about what she did at the dark court and with who she did it.
Layla giggled. "I can't just kiss and tell Dawn." When she saw the look on Dawn's face, she sighed. "It's so dark there. I swear there were tourches every where. And the fog....I'd heard that humans could get lost in it, but I never believed it...but now..." She shuddered.
She perked up at that. "Oh so there was kissing involved."She clapped her hands like a happy child. "Yay!"She said with a grin. She shuddered along with her. "Ugh how sad and lonely. And well dark. I prefer the beautiful warm sunshiny weather we have here as oppose to dark and gloomy over there." She couldn't even imagine living in a place like that. "But you never did tell me. How handsome is the king?"
Layla rolled her eyes and smirked. "Of course you would focus on that." she complained, but she smiled. "Dawn, you should have seen him. He was so handsome, dark hair, dark eyes, those muscles..." her voice trailed off again.
"I am officially jealous of you Layla."She told her completely serious. If she thought he was that handsome then he had to be. "I mean seriously you got to ogle a hot Fae prince while I sat around bored out of my mind."She complained. "I miss like everything. Next time there is a meeting among the courts I'm hanging with you seeing as how you seem to have all the fun."she declared.
Layla giggled and grin. "He definitely made up for that gloomy palace of his." She smiled good naturedly and gave Dawn a little push. "You definetly don't need my help. Don't you remember the last time we went to the beach? All the summer knights were staring at you." she mock pouted.
She laughed. "I'm sure he did, just by the far off look you keep getting when you talk about him."She teased. She pushed her lightly back. "Oh so so true."She said grinning a sly grin and twirling a loose piece of her around her finger that had fell out of her braid. "But picture this us together in once place just imagine all the hot guys surrounding us."She with sly grin and a giggle.
Layla grinned and stuck out her tongue. She flopped back in her cushion and sighed. "I'm picturing it...." She giggled. "I seriously love your brain. That," she said, waving her hand, "Would be paradise...and completely unattainable while the courts are fighting." she pouted.
She laughed. "Oh real mature Layla."She teased. "I love my brain too."She agreed. "And it would totally be paradise and all the other girls would be so jealous..."she trailed off sighing blissfully, well until Layla ruined it. "Yeah I know."She pouted as well, "Its so not fair how are we suppose to attain this amazing dream if the courts are fighting."
((lol I'm sorry: Back!))Layla nodded, pouting prettily while she played with her necklaces. "I think I liked it better when the courts were ignoring each other. It was so much easier to meet boys." she sighed, her mind drifting to Cale and the dark king. "But that doesn't mean we can't have some fun with the summer guards."
She nodded in agreement. "It was so much easier. Now its going to be hard because they're all gonna be worried about getting in trouble for associating with a different court."She whined still looking amazing while doing so. "Yeah that is true we still can, but you know what they say about fresh meat and all." Not that there was anything wrong with the summer guards or anything just having fresh meat was kinda fun.
"I know." Layla sighed, uncrossing her legs. "The winter knights do sound exotic...even if they are pale." she giggled, scrunching her nose lightly. She had only seen a few of them, scattered around their queen; the king had been absent.
She laughed with her. "They are quite pale aren't they? Must have to do with the cold."She mused. She shrugged. "Either way I'd like to "meet" someone of the dark court. In all my 545 years I've never "met" one of them."And both of them knew that she didn't really mean the words meet and met and that she meant something a little more fun.
Layla giggled, but she was intrigued. "You've never "met" one before? Ever?" Layla understood that the dark court didn't want to become entangled in the fight between the other courts, but the fact that they kept to themselves for so long.
She shook her head and sighed. "NoPe!"She said popping the p. "I have never "met" any of those fine gentleman. I mean I've obviously talked with a few and that's about it."She pouted. "They where always way to reclusive, which just takes the fun out of things if you ask me." They'd been reclusive for awhile now. By the time she started being the flirty fun loving girl she was they'd already been reclusive.
"I can't believe they've been isolated for so long." Layla shook her head. It wasn't healthy; the fair folk were meant to socialize and party. Layla shuddered; she wouldn't have lasted long.
"Neither can I."She replied, "Its just not right. How can they be so so isolated for so long? I don't think I could have done that. I'm meant to flirt part have fun socializing not be isolated. Everyone of the fae is meant to be like that and they're just not."She shuddered. "Its unhealthy and wrong."
"It isn't right." she agreed, twirling a fallen leaf between her fingers. "And that," Layla said grandly. "Is why you and I are summer girls." She caught sight of her reflection in the shallow pool. "And good looking ones at that."
"It is most defiantly why we are summer girls."She agreed looking at her reflection as well. "Oh please good looking. Sister we are better than good looking. We are absolutely gorgeous."She said dramatically, which was in her opinion completely true.
Layla giggled and fluffed her hair. "You're right. Now is no time for false modesty." She examined her reflection before finally looking away. "Do you think the king and queen will have a party for the winter court?"
She giggled. "It most definitely is not my dear."She replied pulling her hair out of its braid and letting it all fall around her shoulders in a slight curl on the ends. "They may or they may not you never know. On the one hand we are the summer court so any reason for a party, but on the other hand we're not exactly best buddies with the winter court."She answered with a slight shrug. "So either way we may or may not have a party. Of course I hope we do. Any chance for flirting."
Layla giggled and lay back; shutting her eyes against the glare of the sun. "You're right, I just wish that they would. Everyone is way to stressed and a party is just the thing to "ease the tension"." she winked.
Dawn laughed. "Yeah tension really needs to be eased around here. Especially for the MALES."She said with a wink emphasizing the word Males. Dawn leaned back and titled her head toward the sun shutting her eyes to soak up the rays of the sun.
((umm...who's Lily))Layla was overcome with a fit of giggles. "Oh yes, especially them." she choked between laughter. "Oh those boys." she said affectionately, tossing her hair.
((woops. I'm so use to making Lily as the first female i make in rp groups! Fixed it though))Dawn burst out a round of giggles with her. "Oh I crack myself up."She breathed. "Oh yes the poor boys so filled with tension of allkinds."She said wiggling her eyebrows for emphasis. "I mean really we'd be doing them a favor."
((lol it's ok))Layla smirked. "You're right. I mean those poor guys aren't going to be able to focus. And they need to be at their best to defend their court, right?" she winked, rolling over onto her stomach and sighed contentedly.
She grinned, "Exactly my point my dear Layla. If those poor guys are so filled with tension they won't be able to focus and then they can't defend their court. I mean really we'd be doing them a favor."She Said grinning slyly thinking of the possibilities!
"Dawn," Layla said solemly, "You're a genius!" she grinned. "Now all we have to do is get their majesties to agree to a party." She could see it now; summer and winter fey mingling on the dance floor, the good looking winter knights. She sighed happily.
She clapped her hands all giddy now. "Oh I know I am!"She exclaimed happily. "Yes, but how do we plan on doing that? We need a plan and it needs to be an awesomely epically amazing plan to get them to agree to have this party!"She said excited now, just thinking about all hot hot guys there got her all tingly.
Layla smirked. "Since it was your wonderful idea, I think you should present it to their majesties." She shrugged delicately. "After all, they do like you more."
She rolled her eyes and shook her head. "Oh yeah Layla throw me in the fire."She said sarcastically. "And what do you mean they like me more?"She asked. "I mean I know I'm so very likeable but still."She responded. "Plus what do you think would be the best way to bring it up?"
"You're welcome." Layla teased, before her expression sobered. "I don't know." she said thoughtfully. "Maybe...make it think that it was their idea?" she tapped her chin as she thought.
Dawn frowned at that. She didn't really believe that the royals liked her anymore than they liked Layla. At least that's what she believed. She didn't see why they'd like her more. They where both summer girls with similar personalities. She shook her head to stop thinking about, when it came down to it she'd never know if it was true or not. "Oh yes because that sounds so easy Layla. Now how do you suppose I do that?"
