Now that's a good question...I think Reynolds in a genuinely good guy who just made some stupid decisions. I think he's been trying to keep Lilith from acting on whatever evil designs she has.

Maybe...
But with a character like Reynolds, you never know, right?

that's so true....he could always be a double agent

Right! But I'm curious about how he even got involved with Lilith. Because, it seems like he's her henchman, but at the same time he's helping Isobel. Lilith knows someones conspiring against her, but she doesn't know it's him (which is good). I just thought it was weird that Isobel and Poe call him Reynolds while Lilith calls him Gregory. I'm also curious about what his job is in the Dreamworld. I mean, there's the Nocs, there's Lilith, there're the crazy ghost people, and Varen. What part does Reynolds play?? I wish Kelly Creagh would write like a short story giving background info about him. I want to know his story.

I hope she does; that would be really cool."
I know, right?! :D I think I remember Reynolds saying how he'd been human before being what he is now. I think that Gregory might have been his human name...

Lol. :) I think he did say that he was human. Gregory is probably his human name, but what about Reynolds? His last name?
Brooke wrote: "It's Gordon, not Gregory."
It is? Wow... this whole time I thought it was Gregory...

I want to know that too. The only way we'd find out his last name is if Kelly Creagh decides to write a story about him.

Gah...I just want Oblivion to come out so we can get some answers.

I looked back at the second book and you were right Brooke, it is Gordon! This whole time I thought it was Gregory.... I like Gregory better than Gordon, though.... it sounds more like a human name for Reynolds.

I hated Reynolds even more than I already did after I read Enshadowed. Lying to Isobel and causing her to leave Varen behind in the first book was bad enough, but what he did to Poe? Unforgivable.

Yeah, what he did to Poe was a shock. But maybe (and this just a theory) he killed Poe to free him from being bound to Lilith. Maybe that was the only way out he saw so that Poe wouldn't suffer. IDK.... as much as I want to dislike Reynolds, I feel like he didn't just kill him to be cruel. I mean, isn't that evident in the fact that he goes to his grave every year to leave wine and flowers? He must feel some guilt over what he did and mourns Poe...

I guess the mystery of Reynolds has been solved. He is the man Poe wrote about in his short story, The Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym.

In the books, Reynolds is a friend of Poe's. Although he does kill him, he does so in order to set him free from Lilith's control. Lilith was using Poe - and later on Varen - to create a portal into reality. Reynolds is kind of a double agent (almost like Snape from Harry Potter). He acts somewhat as a guide for Isobel (the protagonist of the story) while she maneuvers through the Dream World and goes up against Lilith (the villain) to save Varen (the guy she loves) from being bound to Lilith like Poe was. Reynolds is the Poe Toaster simply as a way to honor his friend (Poe).
While Reynolds is technically supposed to be a 'bad guy' working for Lilith, he also helps Isobel to stop Lilith and free him as well as the other trapped souls from being connected to the Dream World (a nightmarish, macabre place of Varen's creation that Lilith rules). I would say that Reynolds is good, but got mixed up with an evil entity and was forced to become something dark himself. It's eventually revealed that Reynolds's real name is Gordon and that he's the main character from Poe's story 'the Narrative of Arthur Gordon Pym of Nantucket'.
Sorry you received such a late reply! And I hope this information helps you somehow. :)

Okay so I haven't read Enshadowed yet, I finished Nevermore about a week or so ago and have been working on Ignite (Which I know has nothing to do with this topic but I started it before Enshadowed came in the mail) But I don't know what to make of Reynold's yet.. at first I thought that he might be someone trying to detract Isobel from finding out what was really going on that or he wanted to kill her.;and then he started helping her. But as of right now I don't know what to make of him.

Yeah, Reynold's is a shifty character. As you continue to read the series, though, it will make sense why he acts the way he does.
