Renee wrote: "I haven't read your book, but does it have anything to do with the Matrix movie themes?"No. I wrote my book long before the Matrix movies came out, but I got sidetracked doing other things and didn't make any serious effort to publish until 2012-2013. The Reality Matrix Effect deals with the concept of alternate realities, as envisioned by the Many Worlds Interpretation of quantum mechanics. The effect explains the split in reality described in the blurb on my book page. I don't want to get too specific about how that works because in order to explain more fully, I probably would wind up giving away plot points. I hope you will read the book and then ask more questions about it.
Welcome to the group. We are always interested in new members and their experiences and/or interests.
Well, Laura its already worth it for you to join this group, as your book sounded intriguing to me, so I just bought it :-)
I just bought it also. Can't say when I'll get to it, though, as I have about 15 or so in the queue to be read!
To Steph and Dodie (and anyone else who buys The Reality Matrix Effect), I hope you enjoy it. Please let me know if you have any questions or if you would like to initiate a discussion about it or about any particular aspect of it.
I'll certainly will do that, but right now like I said above, it may be quite a time before I can read it due to the amount of books I've bought or acquired over the past few days! I always have way too many books waiting for me to get to them, but this is one of the top two or three
I certainly understand the time constraints. I'll look forward to your questions and discussion whenever you get around to it.
Hello,I'm new here
I'm just looking for some real science discussion about quantum consciousness...if anybody interested...talk to me lol!

Hi Petey, welcome to our discussions. We don't have a lot of talk, but when we do, it's generally interesting. Look at some of the discussions that are ongoing (slowly!). Do contribute about your interests and we'll certainly join in. Have a good day.
Petey, I'm not a scientist; so I don't think I can offer much in the way of hard science regarding this subject, but my science fiction novel, The Reality Matrix Effect, is based in part on the Many Worlds Interpretation of quantum mechanics. From the little I've learned about quantum consciousness in my quick Google search, I can see how the pseudoscience I created for my book, something I call "reality matrix theory," might connect with quantum consciousness. I gather you wanted some scientific discussion about the subject, not more speculation on possibilities. However, I think those whose minds are closed to speculation about possibilities make poor scientists. To me, one of the scientist's most important jobs is to consider the unknown and/or little understood and then to find ways of exploring, in an unbiased way, the validity of the phenomena in question. Once the existence of such phenomena is verified, the scientist should be exploring how they work and their implications, not rejecting them as "impossible." Sadly, I find that ***many*** so-called scientists routinely dismiss anything they don't understand as nonsense and marginalize any scientists who approach such subjects as at best ill-informed and at worst, charlatans.

I read Gary Zukav's "The Dancing Wu Li Masters" years ago while doing research for my novel, "The Reality Matrix Effect." I became fascinated by the seeming convergence of science and Eastern philosophy. Then I saw the movie "What the Bleep Do We Know," which seemed to be consistent with what I'd read as well as with some of the ideas I incorporated into my novel.
I don't know whether any of that is relevant to the interests of this group, but I thought I'd join and try to get a better idea about that.
