This past year a popular BP reading project was the short stories of Jorge Luis Borges. For 2014, I would like to feature a similar project for Franz Kafka’s short stories. We would follow the same format of reading and discussing one short story every other week. We can save his most famous story, The Metamorphosis, for last and do a compare-and-contrast read with two novellas, Philip Roth’s, The Breast, and Marie Darrieussecq’s, Pig Tales. We would start towards the end of February and finish around September or so.
I setup a poll to gauge interest in reading Kafka next year. Vote choices are:
