Is there a reason why this profile is for author John J. Niven and not simply "John Niven"? I've looked at the books and he doesn't seem to use the middle initial in any of the covers most of the covers, so wouldn't it be simpler to find as "John Niven"?

Also I'm not sure he's also the author of some of the books, like

My guess is that it was originally there to disambiguate him from other authors of the same name, but the profiles were accidentally merged.

I could leave it as it is now (since it's not technically "wrong", only harder to find - and makes it easier to misattribute newly entered books by this author), or I could create John^Niven and John^^Niven.
What is your suggestion? Thanks

It is preferable to disambiguate with a middle initial rather than an extra space.
