Alicia Dean (alicia_dean) My niece, who is 18 and has had a troubled upbringing, and VERY troubled teen years, posted this on Facebook. I thought it was wise and optimistic. I love her attitude. I don't know exactly what went on, she is actually my ex-husband's sister's daughter, and I don't see them often, but I know that things were pretty rough for a while and she was in a lot of trouble. It seems she's coming out of it and with this attitude, I can see how:

"My dad said 2013 was a horrible year. He had a heart attack, my mom had shingles and I had to go to the hospital. I said 2013 has been A GREAT YEAR. You SURVIVED a heart attack, she didn't go blind from the shingles and got rid of them and I SURVIVED and got help. It was a great year and 2014 will be even better!!"

Pamela(AllHoney) (pamelap) Love her positive outlook! We all need that!

Susan Owens | 1 comments Your niece is very wise for her age and her attitude will be a level I'll try to achieve during life's downturns.

My husband's mantra as he is slinging the manure, "With this much s**t, there's got to be a horse in here somewhere."

Alicia Dean (alicia_dean) Yes, she is. I like your husband's mantra. :)

What a great attitude. As bad as things are, we can try to find something positive.
