Thanks for starting this thread, Natalie! And adding so many books to it.

If anyone has ever noticed the small picture I use for the club, it's a screenshot of the Kindle app on my phone. Most of these are superhero books (or at least books about people with powers) I've downloaded for free - and the following books seem to still be free for download.

Graceful Blur by Ian Thomas Healy Graceful Blur

Agents of Change (Agents of Change, #1) by Guy Harrison Agents of Change

Invisible Justice (Justice, #1) by Kim Jewell Invisible Justice

Trouble Brewing by Edward Winslow Trouble Brewing

Mercuria, Rising. by Jack Preston King Mercuria Rising

Impulse Control (Talent Chronicles, #0.5) by Susan Bischoff Impulse Control

Superheroes The Best of Philosophy and Pop Culture by William Irwin Superheroes: The Best of Philosophy and Pop Culture

Stephen Henning (henningopolis) | 5 comments Hi fellow superhero fans. I'll say up front this is self-promotion... so if that's not allowed in this thread then please accept my apologies and I will remove it if asked to by the mod.

I have written a series of superhero books, and a novella in the series is free.

Where's Lolly? (Class Heroes, #3) by Stephen Henning
Where's Lolly? is book 3 in the Class Heroes series. It is a short story, and it's absolutely FREE on Amazon, Kobo and Barnes and Noble. (Links below).
It is a standalone story, so you don't need to have read other books in the series to enjoy it.

Lolly Rosewood is 16 years old, she's on the run and — worse still — she's lost her incredible superpowers.

Lolly has a chequered history, so who in their right mind would give her shelter and offer help? An old friend of her father is her only chance of salvation, but the Security Services are closing in.

Stephen - I agree with Natalie. I think the only exception we can make to posting self-promotions is here, and only if it's free. And if you say up front it's self-promotion :)

Isabella Modra (isabellamodra) | 7 comments Hey Superhero fans!

Just wanted to put it out there that I've written a trilogy (yet to be completed) about a girl who gets the power to control fire. Check it out; the reviews have been incredibly good so far, particularly for book 2 which involves a lot more people with powers.

Book 1: Rouge
Book 2: Embers & Ice

At the moment the books are regular prices on Amazon

http://www.amazon.com/Rouge-Isabella-Modra-ebook/dp/B00EMEYUBA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1407242107&sr=8-1&keywords=Rouge+Isabella

BUT if you do want a free ebook copy, message me on Goodreads and I'll happily email you one. I do it all the time ;) Rouge which is the first books is also free to read on Wattpad:

http://www.wattpad.com/story/8459290-rouge

If you guys like books about superheroes as much as I do, you'll LOVE my series. I know I'm biased in saying this, but I have been heavily influenced by Marvel and DC, and this is what I came up with :) Please enjoy!!

Thanks guys :)

US: http://www.amazon.com/Conquest-Of-Her...

UK: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Conquest-Hero...

From the bestselling author of Wolves of Rome:

Europe has fallen to an ancient power that rose within the shadows of history. A year after the war the seemly unstoppable power of the Order is poised to strike across the Atlantic. The world stands on the brink of total subjugation, with only the United States as the last superpower capable of standing against the rising darkness.

However, unknown to them, the true enemy lies closer than anyone could have expected.

When one of the Order's greatest generals, Velvet, is found in Alaska, her arrival sets new events in motion as the doomsday clock is fast approaching.

Hunted by her people, Velvet seeks to learn the truth about her origins. What she will learn can change the course of history forever.

I did not know that!

I know that they have the subscription, and the first one's free and all that - but I didn't know they had free downloads all the time like that.

I love Dracula! And Cumming & Curry? That would be awesome - I'll have to get that. Thanks!

message 41: by Jim, The Ulti-Moderator (new)

Jim (jkmfilms) | 787 comments Mod
Curses! It doesn't look like Dracula is free anymore :(

But I did pick up the Legend of Sleep Hollow read by the star of the new show (which is pretty decent...I saw the first season, but haven't had time for the second).

And I would have loved a book of Drizzt short stories. I never got much into his character - I only read that first trilogy he was in, but I loved Forgotten Realms. (Geez...so long ago...)

Thanks - I'll have to check periodically to see what they put for free...

OK. I take that back.

Dracula is free on Kindle.

But if you get it free on Kindle, you can download the Whispersync narration automatically without buying the audiobook???

That's cool!

So - to figure that out, I joined an Audiobooks group here on Goodreads. Sorry for being off-topic...(not comics or superheroes)...but I think that's a pretty cool thing.

Good grief. If you search on Amazon Kindle books for "superhero" and sort by price, there's a ton of books for free.

I just downloaded a few that looked interesting to me.

One kids book: Superbunny and the Peas of Doom: A 'read-aloud' bedtime story for parents to read to/with kids aged 5 to 11 years
http://www.amazon.com/Superbunny-Peas...

And some short stories:
Comic Book

Supervillain
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Z...

Captain Cyberspace: Attack of the Social Justice Warrior
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00Y...

Might be interesting!
