The time has come again for us to choose our next reads starting 25th January through until 24th March. Please feel free to nominate anything you feel will be of interest to the group. All the nominations will be put into a poll next week. The winning books will join "The Time Machine" by HG Wells which is our randomly chosen book from the Guardian Must Read Sci Fi list.

Thanks :)

Charlotte Jones (ramblingsofanelfpire) I own the two Jen has suggested and haven't read those yet =)

I'll nominate
Carrie by Stephen King Carrie by Stephen King - it's not my type of book usually but I received it for Christmas so would like to give it a go

The Turn of the Screw by Henry James The Turn of the Screw by Henry James - again, not my usual choice but I need to read it for university and it's quite a short novella so it might be a nice quick pick for those who are quite busy =)

Charlotte Jones (ramblingsofanelfpire) I'd like to suggest another book because I've just finished Carrie...I'd still like to discuss it with anyone who's read it but I'd like to suggest The 5th Wave (The 5th Wave, #1) by Rick Yancey instead =)

Thank you to everyone who voted in the recent poll.
The next books have now been chosen. I hope you all join in where possible - I'm certainly looking forward to reading all three!

Lacey Stephens | 29 comments I've read the 5th Wave already (sometime in the past month or so) and can't wait to discuss it. The other two look great as well and look forward to reading them.

I have just started The 5th Wave and really like it so far, very mysterious =)

Lacey Stephens | 29 comments There are some "timeline" issues. The author goes back in time a few times to explain a back story which totally confused me a little. You'll understand what I'm talking about when you get there. But after a few times, I finally got used to that way of writing.

I'm 105 pages in now and I completely know what you mean! It does get a little confusing at points but I just really want to know what happened/is going to happen, and I'm getting used to it definitely =)
