Nadia (heartlesstree) | 26 comments I made a list of books I'd like to read for this challenge and from my TBR pile, here:

https://www.goodreads.com/review/list...

There are +25 books because I'd like to tackle "Pike's Peak" first, and then see if I can make it to "Mount Blanc". Also, because I read according to my mood so that way I can have more options to choose from.

In there I also added a couple of classics I've been meaning to read (another small 2014 resolution), and it's a mixed list of physical copies and ebooks.

I'll be updating this thread with my progress!

*EDIT: I have decided to delete the list mentioned above and just add the books as I read them. It's easier for me.

Nadia (heartlesstree) | 26 comments 1. Let It Snow by Maureen Johnson, John Green & Lauren Myracle.
(owned since May 2013).

I've had SO much to do lately and barely any time to read. But I'm happy I started the challenge with this book, it was such a feel good read!

Slow ascent, but a sure one.

Karen Slow and sure is good. I am on my first one as well, which I am also reading in fulfillment of another challenge. I am looking forward to posting my first completed step on my mountain, and aiming to do it by Jan 31!

John Green is interesting to read. I recommend "Will Grayson, Will Grayson" IT'S SO GOOD. It's my favorite book of his (it's a collab with David Levithan so it's not only his tho).

Nadia (heartlesstree) | 26 comments 2. Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro.
(owned since December 2010).

I finally finished this one!
I have mixed feelings about it. The story was interesting, and I enjoyed the way it was written (even though sometimes there was TOO much rambling). The plot it's VERY thought provoking, but somehow I felt something was lacking. It just left me feeling sad and nothing more.

I think I liked the movie more, it was more condensed and it made a bit more sense.

I enjoyed this one. Very funny read! It made me like Mindy even more.

Hands down favorite book read so far in this challenge. It comes as no surprise really because I'm IN LOVE with this series. The characterization, the plot, etc = A++++. I NEED to know what comes next, sadly it won't be until October.

Beautiful poetry book!

Nadia (heartlesstree) | 26 comments 6. This is How You Lose Her by Junot Diaz.*
(owned since November 2013).

Not sure how I feel about this one yet. I loved the Dominicaness of the book, and the heart of the stories (realistic, people fighting for a better life and searching for love, etc) but at the same time I was left feeling like "uhm, is that all ? what's the point ?". And let's not get into the women in this book, were they just sexual objects for Yunior and the other dudes ? wtf.

Nadia (heartlesstree) | 26 comments 7. Rachel Rising by Terry Moore.*
(owned since November 2013)

Ehm, this was okay ? I'm intrigued, I would like to know the why of everything that's happened. BUT, the black and white images bothered me a bit, it was easy to feel overwhelmed by them, and the story was confusing and not developed enough IMO. Might continue the series to see what happens, but not sure yet.

P.D: I'm counting graphic novels (at least full volumes) for this challenge.

Nadia (heartlesstree) | 26 comments 8. Arkham Asylum by Grant Morrison, Dave McKean*
(owned since July 2013)

So creepy and intriguing. I think this is one of those books to come back to after a while to re-read and digest it better, while picking up things you missed on the first read. Also, I love this edition (15th anniversary), it has the script in the back and cool notes!

Nadia (heartlesstree) | 26 comments Haven't updated in ages, sorry about that. Been so distracted with new releases and other stuff (which means while others were climbing and drinking water, I was busy stuffing my face with candy and not walking ha). I'm going to try and push until the end since I only have 2 titles left to complete the climb! *pants* The hard part for me it's always choosing what to read.

9. Untold by Sarah Rees Brennan
(owned since October 2013)

A good addition to the series. Some aspects of the plot were repetitive and slow, but I still liked it. LOVED the characters as usual.

10. Blood Red, Snow White by Marcus Sedgwick

LOVED the fairy tale aspect from the beginning, I wish that would have been how the rest of the book had been written. It was too easy to get lost and/or bored with all the historical details (I'm not a big fan of History, can you tell?). But god did this book made me want to know more about Russia and its history. Kudos for the details on Arthur Ransome at the end, no idea he actually existed.
