I'm currently almost half way through this book. I've got to admit that I'm not enjoying it as much as I expected to. The story is too simple for adults but due to it's sexual content and swearing is definitely not one for children. I hate to ever say this but I think that I prefer the film to the book so far!
I've managed to force myself into finishing Stardust and could in all honesty only rate it two stars. The story and characters lacked depth or purpose. I really am disappointed as Neil Gaiman's Neverwhere and Good Omens (co written with Terry Practchett) are among my favourite books.
I have this book on my shelf and I'm unsure whether I'll be able to get to it any time soon with all the other books I need to read (I need to read The Crucible and Mrs Dalloway within the next week). I have tried to get into it a few times but never got past the first few pages. I think I'll just have to be in the right mood when I read this as I find Gaiman's writing style a little difficult to get absorbed in...I'll post here when I eventually read it though...maybe in a few months or so!
