I love both the tv show and the series, that is until they started being written by a ghost writer.

Argh I agree! The ghost writer ruined the books completely, and I hated the way L.J Smith was treat. Sadly it can be used as an example for other authors whose books get picked up for tv shows.

Although I shall forever be grateful for Damon Salvatore ;)
