Please discuss the book here :)

I'm excited to read this one and will be putting in my order for it soon. I've heard mixed reviews so I'm curious to see what people in this group think of it.

Charlotte Jones (ramblingsofanelfpire) I read this book last December and thoroughly enjoyed it. The perspective takes a while to get into but it's written really well!

Yes, I read your review, and is, of course, one of the main reason why I voted for it and why it's been on my radar. I often hear, from those few who didn't like it, that it was the perspective that turned them off. Nevertheless, I plan to find out for myself.

My copy is scheduled to arrive in the mail tomorrow...although I won't be around to receive it. As soon as I'm finished with The Martian, I'll be starting this.

I did start this promptly after finishing The Martian. I am well over half finished. I feel like this novel is full of that "boring" action that is just interesting enough to keep me interested. I also have times where I'm like, "Why do I like this? I don't know; but, I just want to keep reading." I've been listening to the audiobook and reading my physical copy. At this point, however, I feel like the story is repeating itself, that Flora is having the same conversations, making the same mistakes and, somehow, managing to sneak by without being caught. I hope this is just a slow spot because it's quickly declining for me.

I think some of the repetitiveness helped ground the story in the beehive world for me. Hope you enjoy the end more!

Thank you, Charlotte for the boost of reassurance. I did stick it out and was very happy with the turn of events, the "twist," and the overall ending. I gave it 3.5 stars because I more than liked it, but didn't really like it. I'm glad I read this. I hope more people in the group read this and want to discuss its sociological significance. I'd be interested to hear what others think.
