I have a wild jealous streak. It's a little more tame, now that I'm older, but I still have to shush it up once in awhile.
It particularly makes itself known when I read the work of someone whose writing sends me soaring off in another dimension. The last book to do that was the memoir CHRONOLOGY OF WATER by Lidia Yuknavitch. I can't read her books just once. I have to read them several times over, and I'll never be able to write with as much abandon as she does, but just reading her sends me on a composing streak that lasts for weeks and weeks--months sometimes.
Is there any author or a book that makes you jealous? Who? What book?
