I'm trying to decide my goals for this Readathon! I need 5 letters to complete my A-Z Challenge so maybe I'll knock a couple of those out. I have the books owned/picked out for my leftover letters already. I've completed my Summer Reading Challenge, should be finishing up my 14th book this weekend. I've got a Penguin ARC due in a few weeks so I'll probably get that done before next weekend and then start in on the A-Z books.
What are your goals?!
What are your goals?!
Good question about goals, Elyse!I'm reading Saint Anything and am just shy of half-way through, so I'd like to finish that. Then I have a group read to focus on - for the Cozy Mystery Corner: Ghost a la Mode.
Books 2 and 3 in the Percy Jackson series might be next in line, OR The Snow Child.
I finished my Penguin ARC and started tackling the 5 letters I have left of A-Z Challenge. 'F' is getting done!
It's time to get reading! I'm halfway through The Future Collection and about three quarters through The Bargaining so I'm hoping to finish both of these today! Getting out work at 3:30, picking up an iced coffee, and hanging out on my porch!
I'm in. I'm going to try to finish everything on my "currently reading" list. A Darker Shade of Magic by VE Schwab, audiobook, about 90% through. My Never by Renee Swann, e-book, about 30% through. The Children's Crusade by Ann Packer, book, about 24% through. The Angry Women Suite by Lee Fullbright, e-book about 26% through. And Blueprintsby Barbara Delinsky, book, need to start.
Count me in! I'm working on All the Light We Cannot See (which is fairly long, but a fast read) and I'm hoping to get in another book or two before the holiday weekend ends.
I always want to do the A-Z challenge but I somehow manage to get myself all tied up in reviews for my blog. maybe next year! I'm sure I will be doing some reading, always have a book going.
I'm in- I've got three things I've been "in the middle of" for ages and this is a perfect chance for me to focus on them. Or, you know, go to a bookstore and start completely new things. Which seems to be what I've been doing and why I haven't finished those three yet *sigh*
Well, I didn't finish anything last night. But I started more! Lol. I have no physical books at my house because we are selling our house so they're all in storage. I have a couple e-books that can only be read on the devices they're on. So my iPod was charging and my husband was using the iPad so I started reading Zombie Fairy Tales: The Complete Collection on my Kindle! Which at least is my 'Z' book for my A-Z Challenge. Lol. Still need to finish the other books I mentioned above! Working on it!
I'm so happy to see a good turnout for this Readathon! Looks like we're all trying to slim down that Currently Reading list! :)

I am in!!! I am house sitting so lots of quiet time to read and read and read. I need to get to 50% done with "Middlemarch", need to start "Crocodile on the Sandbank" for my book club and "Out of the Silent Planet" [<--I need to get that read before my Chiropractor appointment on the 9th as he is the one that recommended it to me]. And then whatever else I can CRAM in. I am in a huge cozy mood and have been blasting through the Meg Langslow series by Donna Andrews [Kay, have you read these? They are FUN!]. I read 9 books in a week and a half, so I am in a really good reading streak that I hope to continue through this weekend!! YIPPPEEEEEE!!!!
Check-in time! I finished The Bargaining and The Future Collection yesteday and I'm about halfway through Zombie Fairy Tales: The Complete Collection! I haven't decided what I'll read next but it will definitely be for a letter for my A-Z Challenge.

Wow, Dawn Michelle, keep that reading speed going! Good luck!

Halfway through the marathon . . . I read Saint Anything by Sarah Dessen. Loved it!
Also read, for a Newberry Club group read, The Matchlock Gun, by Walter D. Edmonds.
And - I'm just a little more than halfway through Ghost a la Mode by Sue Ann Jaffarian
Finished All the Light We Cannot See this morning and started Journey to the Center of the Earth. I usually get through Jules Verne books pretty quickly, so I have high hopes I'll knock this one out today.
My kindle died so while it's charging I am being forced to read a new book, so Lily Bard #4 is started. I am also distracted by the TV so I need to buckle down. I am at 8% in Middlemarch and need to start Crocodile, but have to wait for my Kindle to charge.
I finished reading Zombie Fairy Tales: The Complete Collection last night. Better than I expected. Lol. Started reading my ARC of Nightfall. So far pretty interesting! I do have to go grocery shopping today but otherwise, just reading planned!
I finished Journey to the Center of the Earth this morning. I'm getting ready to start The Know-It-All by A. J. Jacobs. I'll try to get through as much as I can, but not sure if I will finish it today. I don't have anything else planned today, although there is a 20% off everything sale at Half Price Books that is calling my name. Ah, bibliomania.
I finished The Dog Stars and Buddha's Brain: The Practical Neuroscience of Happiness, Love, and Wisdom. I started Rescue Me which I just got from the library and I am on page 103. Its so funny as set in Texas and has all the old Texas sayings which I enjoy. I also made progress on Changeling.
I think I had a pretty good Readathon! Finished 2 books (The Bargaining and The Future Collection), read one complete book (Zombie Fairy Tales: The Complete Collection, a biggie too, 500+ pgs), and got 3/4 through one more (Nightfall)! And I only have 2 letters left for my A-Z Challenge! Oh and I finished the audiobook I was listening to (Neil Patrick Harris: Choose Your Own Autobiography)! Which was awesome, by the way. Which brings me to 12 books behind my Reading Goal, from the stalemate I was at for forever 15-16 behind! lol.
How did everyone else make out against their goals?

Thanks for the Readathon. Did not do as well as I had hoped, but finished two books and started a 3rd. Made some progress on some challenges I am in for September!

Any progress is progress! Nice job!

Looks like everyone did very well this weekend! I didn't complete everything on my list but I did finish A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab, slow in the beginning but then takes of with lots of drama and action and magic :). I also finished My Never by Renee Swann, it was okay but felt like a first draft versus a finished book. And I made good progress on The Children's Crusade by Ann Packer, I'm enjoying this one and glad the challenge got me back into it, I'm about 65% and was stuck at 24% for a long time. I didn't get to start the other two I had on my goal list but I'm happy with what I got done.
And my husband, unofficial member, read a whole book this weekend! I don't think he's ever read a book that fast and hasn't finished a book in a few years! Go him! ;) He enjoys reading but not as much as other things like gaming. And not as much as I do. Clearly. lol. But he's got the reading itch back!
Despite coming down with an 'end-of-summer' cold and sleeping a lot, I actually did pretty well this RAT. I finished up Maya to Aztec: Ancient Mesoamerica Revealed (an audiobook I'd been stalled at about 60% for... a while :p ), reached the 75% mark on The Modern Scholar Moby Dick America's Epic (another audio I was stalled on- this one is a slog because I don't like Mellville. Or listening to people talk about his works, apparently. But, hey! No one can say I haven't given it a good try), and read 200 pages of Ready Player One (loving this one!).
