I'm interested in reading something by Robert Howard (particularly the Solomon Kane stories, but really anything), but I'm a little overwhelmed by all that he's written. Can anyone recommend a good place to start? Thanks for the advice!

I have only read some of the Conan stuff. Most of those stories are self contained and you don't really need the others to enjoy them.

Ok, good to know! Did you enjoy it?

I did, actually. I picked up the stories that inspired the movie collection at a Borders when they were closing for $1. It was a great steal. Not sure what I was expecting when I picked it up, but I enjoyed the heck out of it.

I read a bunch of Howard's stuff in my early 20s. Most of it was fairly fun, although there's a strong racist streak running through some of his stuff. Better to stay with the pure fantasy stuff then with some of the stuff set in contemporary times.
