Okay. So I am almost finished with this book BUT I had to take a break from it to breathe. *GASP*

Just wanted to hear thoughts about this book from yall.
What did you like? What did you not like?
Favorite characters? Fairfold? Folklore? Holly Black's beautiful prose?

I really liked this book! I read The Coldest Girl in Coldtown first and I gave it five stars, but if I would have read this one before I might have rated Coldtown at a four because this one was just so much better. I loved the take on folklore and fairies and the magical realism that was used (and if you liked the magical realism and haven't read "The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender" yet then you should read it). I thought the characters were really interesting to read from and overall this book was just a fun read.

I really enjoyed this book. I love love love Holly Black's writing. She has such beautiful prose. The thing about her books it that there is such a huge world involved and I feel like we see such a small piece of it. Her books always leave me wanting more. This was my first Holly Black book that I read and then I read Tithe and then The Coldest Girl in Coldtown, which is my favorite. I feel like there was something missing between the "romance" aspect for this book but I loved the mythology behind the story.

I know this is a late comment, but I still feel the need to answer.

Never finished it for multiple reasons. This wasn't the biggest issue I had, but it's the most vivid thing I remember about it.

I will never, NEVER, be able to have strawberry gum. {shudders}
