I'm definitely going to try to get to this one. I read The Cranford Chronicles recently and I loved it so I'm looking forward to this one!
I'm almost halfway through this book now. I'm really enjoying the story, the main character is strong and likeable. The massive gap between the classes of people is depicted extremely well.
I'll start this one soon. I tried to listen to it but the reader had an american accent. It didn't work at all. I got it from project Gutenberg instead.
I finally started this a couple of days ago. I'm really enjoying it. The plot reminds me very much of Pride and Prejudice, but with a North South divide. This was not so obvious in the BBC adaptations of both books, I don't know if this is because these subtleties were lost in the shows, or I wasn't paying attention.

I really enjoyed this book. It was extremely well written and the characters were quite endearing. Maybe it's a good thing that I've never seen any adaptations so I was able to judge it purely for its literary content.
I look forward to hearing how you're enjoying this read :)
