Time difference between Narnia and England

If years and years could take place in Narnia in only about a minute of our time, then how is it that in a full year in England, only a few hundred years of past. If it is about a year every five seconds, then wouldn't about 10 million years have past?

Is Narnian time just completely different then ours?
There were elements of his stories that weren't that important to Lewis and he admits it (I'm thinking of his comments on his space trilogy). I'm not sure if time is one of them, or not. You might want to read Boethius' The Consolation of Philosophy. I believe this is the book that explained "time" and is the explanation Lewis subscribed to. Even so, I couldn't be certain that he applied it to his Narnia chronicles.

You're so welcome, Emma! One of the things J.R.R. Tolkien disliked about the Narnia books is Lewis' tendency to hodge-podge things together. He liked details like this one (time) tied up, whereas Lewis was much looser with his writing in this particular series.I'm reading Emma for about the fourth time and am loving it! You are fortunate to be named after such a fun and loveable character.
