→ your journal is a means to express yourself. you may create several journals, and they can contain whatever you please, albeit you must follow the group rules. ideas for content include your writing, drawings, rants, reviews, favorites, or everyday entries on your life. you may set guidelines for other people comments, as well. organize your journal into the correct folder based on its first letter.

*you may create a journal yourself, unless you are unable and would like a mod to make one for you, in which you just need to ask!

1. On the group homepage, locate new (under the group description/rules and to the right of DISCUSSION BOARD, under flag this group)


2. Click on it, then fill in your title for your journal (for example, Selia's Journal)

3. Select the correct folder from the drop-down menu (by the first letter of the first word, unless it starts with an a or the, then use the second word)


4. Write an intro or something (maybe include if you allow other people to comment)


5. Hit Post!

1: I don't see a "new" anywhere on the homepage and the picture doesn't work

2: What do we do if we want to change the name of the journal and it would go in a different folder?

i get not what you mean by "new". new journal?

if you want to change the name, either ask staff to move it for you, or go to edit up top by the title, and then put it in the appropriate folder.

Click group homepage - across the top where it says discussions you should see to the right - topics" all, new, unread. click New

To change the title just click on your thread, next to your title at the top you should see *edit* click that, change the title and then you should see folder section drop down box, switch it to the appropriate folder and hit save.

Journals are dry, jargon-filled publications filled with rhetoric and five-syllable words that academics must publish in or get fired. I ought to know I am one of those people (but have a job)! I prefer writing books with engaging material that people actually enjoy and use.

Someone asked what a journal was. I answered the question. Yes I am bashing scientific journals. I know how they operate and what purpose they serve. I am sorry if you don't like my opinion.

Lol sorry I love journals then Hunter. Actually as a motivational scientist one of the best strategies to regulate motivation through the inevitable lulls is to track your progress in a journal. It's also a great way to measure personal progress. Sorry for any confusion on my part!

Gotcha. I guess I just don't understand why you mentioned a distaste for scienctific journals here in the group Q&A, you know?

it depends on the owner of the journal. usually the first post of the journal says whether other people can comment on it or not. if it’s unclear, just ask :)

I have a quote that just came out of me the other night when my one year old was eating the crust of my pizza. "crust is a must" i said. it made me and the wife laugh. what do you think? are you a fan of crust? I AM! lol
