One of my favorite books is "Mama Day" by Gloria Naylor. I really like how she drew me into the book as if I was one of the characters. The entire time I read the book it felt as if I was sitting at the table having coffee with one of my good girlfriends.

My favorite book is The Baron in the Trees by Italo Calvino because it is magic realism but it draws the reader so far into the world of the main character that everything seems quite natural and totally normal even though it is a very strange life that the baron lives in the trees. I like it because the Baron at a young age sets himself apart from others and lives a life that is very unusual but better for him than any other life because it suits his innate character.
Perhaps my affinity for the baron comes from me feeling very different at a very young age and going on to live a life that is becoming more mainstream but to me is quite different from the normal view of how things should be
I, much like the baron, believe I and a few others are right and the rest of the world is all wrong. May my life be as long and full and fulfilling as Calvino's Baron.
The only thing wrong with this book is that the baron is a flaming heterosexual ;)
Dorothy Must Die by Danielle Paige. I like what Danielle Paige did with the Land of Oz, how she completely turned everything around and the main character's fight to discover who she is.
ONE favourite? You have to be kidding. There at *least* ten I couldn't choose between, and quite possibly twenty if I gave it some thought.Off the top of my head:
Skallagrigg
Winter's Tale
Hello Summer, Goodbye
Dune
Jennie
Rimrunners
The Paladin
The Hobbit
The Lord of the Rings
My Friend Flicka (will NEVER watch the movie OMG how could they DO that?)
I Start Counting
On Basilisk Station
and lots more - and I mean these are books I'll go on re-reading for the rest of my life.
My top five favourite books:1. Where the Red Fern Grows
2. Gone With the Wind
3. Remembrance
4. Life of Pi
5. The Book of Negroes
Tough question. I have so many favourites that it's hard to choose, but if I had to choose, it would probably be Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.
Picking favorites is so hard... Usually it's whatever book I read last, haha. Buuut one that's really stuck with me has to be Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher.
Ooh. A couple of months ago, I was stuck and couldn't decide. But then I read this book which I wanted to read again (for the first time in forever) and another which I found really interesting so I have two... :PGirl Online and Out of My Mind
Hands down: The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and Other Clinical Tales
This book was my inspiration to go into psychology. It is non-fiction but the case studies (that read like short stories) are mindboggling.
Now for fiction... there are so many:
There are so many I love, but those are the books I will read again and again.

Wow... That is probably THE question that every book lover dreads! LOLI see some of you have a very nice list and I'm tempted to do the same, but I'll limit myself to five stories that have left an imprint on my heart and mind one way or another.
In no particular order:
The Wardstone Chronicles (J. Delaney)
Death Note (T. Obha/T. Obata)
Jonathan Strange & Mr Norrell (S. Clarke) (also loooooving the TV series)
The Supernatural Enhancements (E. Cantero)
Life As We Knew It (S. B. Pfeffer)
...and anything by Edgar Allan Poe (although my favorite of all time stays "The Masque of the Red Death")
Wow this is tricky... My favourite book of all time is Matilda. I'm 20 but read it constantly, I read it when I'm sad, happy, sleepy or just bored. It's like a part of me now!
My favourite book is the latest book of Mitch Albom which is "The MAgic Strings of Frankie Presto". The book is stuffed with so much wonderful things that life can offer and at the same time sorrows that will either break you or build you up. I think I might leave the world with this masterpiece remaining at the top of My Favourites. :)
One of my all-time favourites is The Count of Monte Cristo; I haven't reread it very frequently, because it's so large, but it's just such an engrossing and detailed adventure, I love it :)
My all time favourite book is Love in the Time of Cholera. I am currently reading Norwegian wood by Murakami and I think it is a beautiful read
Some of my favorites:- The Book Thief
` The Help
- The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society

I have quite a few favourite books (who doesn't). Among them included Carry On by Rainbow Rowell (a really easy read), Hollow City by Ransom Riggs, and the Girl on The Train by Paula Hawkins.
I think Gulliver's Travels for some reason. Kinda love The Hobbit/The Lord of the Rings as well. Also, A Room of One's Own, Frankenstein, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass, and Giovanni's Room. From my own country there's Dinas bok, Sofies verden & Kabalmysteriet, and Maya. Reading Lolita in Tehran isn't looking too shabby either.
That's a difficult question. Currently read Me before you and I want to say that it was fantastic and became my fav. book of all the time. Also I love The shining by Stephen King, Gone with the wind and The pictureof Dorian Grey.
I have several favorites.1. Gone With the Wind
2. Earth Abides - a post-apocalyptic novel written in the 40's, and the only book I've ever read 3 times.
Because of the layers:
3. Holes, by Louis Sachar is my favorite YA.
Hard choice! I love The Giver, To kill a mockingbird, Still Alice, Big little lies and so much more!
Favourite Authors - Australian Authors are:
Bronwyn Parry - Sunset Shadows
Chris Taylor - Munro Family Series & Sydney Harbour Hospital Series
Helene Young - Northern Heat
American Authors
Nora Roberts - The Obsession
James Patterson - Women's Murder Cub
I love The Giver, Artemis Fowl, Miss Peregrines Home For Peculiar Children (fiouf, long name) and Harry Potter Will always me a favorite :-)
The King of Attolia................well, actually this question is too hard, but I'll tentatively put this for now.
The Alchemist- great short story, I read it at least once a year and always get something different from it, especially if I find myself in a rut or frustrated with my current circumstance at the time. Good motivational book to encourage you to take a step in the direction of your goals and that what you are going through is temporary.
