Laura-Lee (lauraleewashere) | 9 comments Hello everyone.

I used to belong to Goodreads but lost my Internet connection for almost 2 years. I'm back again and the first "social" group I signed up for was ... Goodreads.

I've been a Born Again & Committed Christian for almost 40 years, I'm a Canadian & a Hardcore Stephen Lawhead fan (having read a book by him when I was desperate for a good read and was buying boxes of "unknown books" from Christian Book Distributors & they included the Song of Albion)

I've been back at Goodreads for a few months now and feel I can maintain my Internet connection. So I'd like to give this as an OPEN INVITATION to ANY member of this group who would like to be my FRIEND.

I come here mainly to hear what you have to say about the books you read and to get good book recommendations that inspire my imagination, reaffirm my Christian beliefs, are entertaining and sometimes are just plain g-o-o-d.

If you wish to be friends with me, just send me a request. We're in Canada & about to be snowed under again I'll need lots of opinions and advise.

And if you're not too shy, include a message (even just a short one) as to what motivated you about what I just said to hit the "friendship" button. (but a message is always optional). Love L-L

Laura-Lee (lauraleewashere) | 9 comments Come on Lawheadians. You've got a guaranteed "friend approval" and I am looking forward to seeing what else you are reading and what other authors you like.
Doesn't anyone want to be my new friend?
Sincerely, Laura-Lee

Nightie night.
Talk to you more another time.

I will send you a friend request. You will be my first friend invite. I need to figure out how to do it.

Well, we are friends now, so you figured it out. But you sound like me. It's not about being anti-social, it's about figuring out what screen I need to be in and what I'm supposed to click on.

I didn't come ONLINE until I was almost 40 years old but what's amazing is that even though I was a fully formed adult, being on the Internet for a decade has changed how my mind processes information. I can't help but wonder about people who start with the Internet right from birth. How will they think? How will it be different than their parents and their grandparents? Why does it make me feel more worried than pleased and hopeful? Uh. Those are rhetorical. Just wondering "out loud". (Unless you wish to comment)

Signing off. Have a good day/week.

Sincerely, Laura-Lee (Rahn)

Dianne Astle | 6 comments I discovered there was no mystery to adding a friend. I have responded to over 900 friend requests, but I guess I have always wondered what the point of this whole friend on Goodreads is. Perhaps your 'friends' get a side bar notice when you post a review or add a book as an author. Anyway it is nice to meet you. Stephen Lawhead and Terry Brooks are my two favorite fantasy writers.

If you are friends with someone, you can get a daily email of updates from your friends (in terms of adding books to shelves, their ratings and if they review).
