Jeremy Fink and the Meaning of Life discussion

I have finished this book and I loved it! The ending was amazing! I'm not going to spoil it for the people who are in the middle of reading it, but I found an internal conflict. The conflict I read was how Jeremy and his mother didn't get to say their last words to the father. They both regret things they didn't do or say. Throughout the book they are miserable. However, their minds lighten up when Jeremy finally opens the box. Any thoughts?
