Climaxes & Resolutions

This is one of my all time favorite books too! The climax was very unpredictable. There were so many exciting parts in the book so it is hard to tell which one is truly the climax. I think when Adam kills himself is the climax. I don know what the resolution to this would be. Maybe when Hattie gets over the loss of Adam. What do you think?
I agree with you. Adam killing himself was the Climax, in my mind. I think when Hattie got over Adam's death was the resolution too. It is the only one I can think of. Maybe Ann M. Martin purposely didn't have a resolution. It could of been up to the reader to find the resolution. I don't know. What do you think?
I never thought about Ann M. Martin purposely not having a clear resolution but now that I hear the idea, I agree. This is similar to the resolution is "The Giver" because the author of that book also leaves the reader wondering. I think this is a good technique for building up conflict and solving them.

In this book the climax is AMAZING. Don't you think. As the reader, I didn't know how Ann M. Martin was going to resolve the conflict. It wasn't predictable at all! Once I got to the climax I couldn't put the book down. Everything was soooooooo intense. What do you think? Any thoughts?
