Charbel (queez) | 2729 comments I updated my January favourite in message 29. It wasn't easy since I've read such great books this month, but my favourite was: Memoirs of an Imaginary Friend by Matthew Dicks.

message 36: by Angela M (last edited Jan 28, 2016 04:57AM) (new)

Angela M I updated my message number 2 to add my favorite for January. I just could not decide so I cheated and added two titles - Georgia: A Novel of Georgia O'Keeffe and Thomas Murphy.

This got me thinking that some months I may list a favorite because it's the one I liked best that particular month but there may be one I liked a lot more in another month that I didn't list . So when I'm doing a year end favorite list based on monthly favorite I may miss it . I'm going to keep that in mind each month . Highly recommend both of those books.

The only book I've read in January but it's also worth to stay on a best-book-list: Les Misérables

message 38: by Sara (new)

Sara (phantomswife) Angela--added Thomas Murphy to my TBR. Georgia was already there. I agree Les Mis is worthy of any "best" list.

I have added Lamb in His Bosom as my January favorite. I have decided to only consider books that are being read for the first time. This one was amazing and I was shocked that I had never come across it before.

message 39: by Chrissie (new)

Chrissie I have added my favorite for January: : Testament of Youth by Vera Brittain Please see message 8.

message 49: by Petra (new)

Petra | 3327 comments I've just added many books to my TBR list, thanks to the wonderful books listed.
Chrissie, I have Testament Of Youth in my overflowing pile of books here at home. I'm so glad to hear that you loved it. I'll try to get to it soon.

I have added my favorite book for January to post 9. It was the sci-fi book, After the Fall, Before the Fall, During the Fall. This is the second of Nancy Krell's books that I've read and have enjoyed them both. She writes realistic sci-fi (with humans; not robots or such) and that makes it seem real and possible.

message 50: by Chrissie (new)

Chrissie Petra, I am confident you will like Testament of Youth. I am so glad you are NOT listening to the audio.
