Around the Year in 52 Books discussion

I'm reading this for week 4 - an author you discovered in 2015. I've enjoyed the first two books in the series and am looking forward to continuing on.

I'm reading this for week 6 - the highest rated of your TBR.

I just finished this. It took me a while to get through it. It's almost 1000 pages long and the middle kind of dragged for me. But the last third of the book or so....just WOW! And the epilogue?....the very end of the epilogue????....that didn't happen in the TV series did it? If it did I completely missed it.

I reread A Storm of Swords: Steel and Snow for 39. A previous suggestion that did not make it into the list: A book that was turned into a TV series.
And I'm going to reread A Storm of Swords: Blood and Gold for 21. A book from the Goodreads Recommendations page.

No it didn't and I don't think they will. But I can't wait to see if there'll be more of this in the next books.

I read this one for Week 6: The Highest Rated on Your TBR.

The series has been moving farther and farther from the books, while still maintaining the important themes. I expect The Winds of Winter to have quite a lot of characters/developments that aren't in the series at all. And maybe even do some of the big developments differently.

I read Steel and Snow for 52, 'A book set in a fictional location' and Blood and Gold for 14 'A book with a strong female character', but to be honest I was just reading the series and plugging them into the categories that fit. More to come (and hopefully Martin gets around to Winds of Winter in the next five years).

I read this for my 2018 Topic Discard Challenge, A protagonist with an animal companion.

I am just starting to read the Game of Thrones series and am REALLY liking it. I can understand why people rave about these books. I am so ready and excited to read the next books.
