J Russ Briley (jrussbriley) | 2 comments Free book offer to the group! On Amazon Friday the 15th and Saturday the 16th.

You read it right. To say thank you to Goodreads for featuring One Man Two Votes, my publisher has agreed to offer the Kindle e-book on amazon for free Friday the 15th and Saturday the 16th.

My novel is being featured now on Goodreads. I’m thrilled to have the honor. This group is dedicated to the authors I like best. I have several reviews and readers that think I follow an “early Clancy” kind of styling.

I hope lots of you pick up the free book, read it, and enjoy it.

I want to thank those of you who have read the book. The reviews have been exciting reaching 4.5 out of 5 stars on Amazon. Lots of reviewers have stated—well let me just copy a couple instead of paraphrasing.

This is an excellent read, one current with the technology that surrounds us all, its potential, its benefits, as well as its detriments and danger, making the story completely plausible. The characters are "drawn" well and the story flows smoothly.

A (minor) "pet peeve" of mine is very commonly found in all Media nowadays, be it Newspapers, TV, Advertising, or Novels - a general lack of good Editing - I attribute this to too great a reliance on Computers to do the work formerly done by humans. For instance, there is one chapter, about 2/3rds through, where the writing doesn't completely synchronize with the rest of the book, which gave me the impression it was added as "fill"; a good Editor would have questioned the Author about that and encouraged him to "polish" it some more. Also, "Spell Check" does not distinguish between Homonyms. A good Editor would "highlight" the anomaly and say "This should be spelled 'Role' not 'Roll' - there are a number of instances like this.

My opinion is that J. Russ Briley has a very bright future, maybe even having the potential to reach the success- level of the late Vince Flynn! I will purchase his next and would encourage any reader with an affinity for the "Thriller" Genre to try "One Man, Two Votes" to see if their assessment is similar.

My thanks again, and happy reading!

J Russ Briley (jrussbriley) | 2 comments Thanks to everyone in the group and Goodreads! Five-hundred and fifty-six of you downloaded my espionage political thriller One Man Two Votes during the Friday and Saturday event, and I'm excited that many of you have said that you will share reviews, favorite characters, and thoughts with us about the book. Number two in the "Robert Carlton series" One if by Land, Three by Sea is coming out soon! I'd love to know which characters you hope to see in the next book of this series. Drop me a line here on Goodreads, and tell me what you think, or ask me a question.
