Group 95 Novella. Mod: Noorilhuda
I'll throw myself into this group. I have a book of short stories that I think would count as a Novella, it's quite short. Here's the link:The Snow Deer and Other Stories
And here's my member link:
K.A. Krisko
I'd like to join. My novella is the first episode of a horror/fantasy serial. Book link: Village of the Dead
Author page: Jacob Stanley
Cearúil reporting for duty with a short story collection:Bed Time Stories for Grown Ups
Cearúil Swords
Thanks for putting this together and hello to all of you :)
I'd like to participate with a non-fiction book that I wrote. This is a travelogue of a recent holiday in Japan, with the aim of passing on tips of what I learned in the planning of it.

Note for the moderator: I reviewed one of Chance's books in a review round this time last year, if that affects how you allocate who review what.
Looking forward to reading some novellas, don't have the time commitment to read four door stoppers this month!
I'd like to join in with my novella, Ruth Judges Joshua:https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...
Another one of my books has been reviewed by Chance Maree. No other clashes that I can see so far.
Thank you!
I'll throw my hat into the ring with my sci-fi novella "First Grave on Mars"GR book page: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/2...

I'm new to this game, so I've never reviewed or been reviewed. Excited (trepidatiously) though!
I was going to stay out of this round so as not to cause clashes, but to my surprise there don't seem to be any so far, so I'll throw my hat in the ring. I did once review one of Chance's books, but not this one.Dog!: You'll Never Look At Your Dog the Same Way Again.
Mike, I think you might have reviewed one of my other books about a year ago. It was back in review group 61.
H M wrote: "Mike, I think you might have reviewed one of my other books about a year ago. It was back in review group 61."You don't give the title, but I've found it, I think - Llyn ar Bryn Falls. A different book though.
So... You can join a novella round with a short story collection? Does that mean that I could put a novella collection in the novel review round? That doesn't seem to make sense.
Its about the length of the book, and the number of reviews required rather than the content.A novella trilogy which was around the same length as a 'normal' novel, and that was available in one volume on amazon and goodreads (so that a single review would be required) would be acceptable in one of the other rounds, (general, clean or 18+).
Books in any round can be fiction or non-fiction.
I ( Jesse Budi) would love to join with A Collection of Angels.Clash-wise, my novella has already been reviewed by Chance Maree, and I have reviewed a different book by Dermot Davis. If this complicates things too much, I'm a-okay sitting out.

I see. Cool, might do that in the future.
Hi!I am new but would like to join.
I wrote a book which has 92 Kindle pages. It is about eating and drinking around the world, personal stories and fun!

Welcome aboard Anika.Jesse, I don't think its going to be possible to fit you in with all the other interactions going on. I'll try to remember to give you a heads up when the next novella group is forming.
Actually the group is filled now. My book (First Grave on Mars) and Ceatuil's book (Bed Time Stories for Grown Ups) never got listed on the list at the top for some reason. That gives us ten.
Oh your right veronica.if I don't put your name up as soon as I've done a welcome message, its always wise to give me a nudge. I'm spinning many plates most of the time and occasionally I smash one.
I've just looked and the reason I didn't add bedtime stories for grown ups as the author hasn't claimed his author profile as requested in the sign up message.
I've added you Veronica.
Just so I can understand the rules for if I want to participate again with another book. I have two collections of four short stories that are about 10,000 words each.Would I be able to enter those for a novella round because the total is well under 45,000 or not because it would require two reviews?
Harvey
Hi Harvey, no you can't enter two books in one review round, due to the non-reciprocal rule, it wouldn't work. However, I start review rounds on a regular basis. You can enter collections of short stories if you wish, as long as they are under the word count limit. You can even ask different reviewers to review different 'books' within a single round if you wish, as long as you provide your reviewers with the appropriate links.
Your best bet is to gain as many reviews as possible via this group is complete the reviews in each round ASAP so you can join another round when it starts.
Do we send each other a file (word or PDF) or the ebook through Amazon? The reviews are placed on Amazon, right?
Does it matter for the worth of the review?
When I have set up the order, it is the author's responsibility to get their book to their four reviewers. Usually, people contact the other author by private message and ask thier reviewer what format they prefer. Everyone has to be able to provide and accept PDF files, but some people prefer mobi or epub. I don't advise sending word documents.
Reviews need to be placed on amazon.com, amazon.uk and goodreads.
You can download your allocated books from KU if you wish.
ALL REVIEWS, no matter the star rating must be put on the three sites and the links posted to this thread.
Any more questions, please ask.
Thank you!I was wondering how much the review would count on Amazon, since it wasn't bought on Amazon.
And: do we have to ad a line saying we got the book for free or something?
It won't be a verified review on amazon, then again, 'borrows' via KU don't count as 'verified' either. Re declaring that you received a book in exchange for an honest review. if you are in the USA, yes, definitely add it as it is a legal requirement in the USA.
Elsewhere, it gets a little fuzzy. For example I'm in the UK, and it isn't a requirement here, but Amazon and goodreads are American owned companies, so the lines are blurred. Personally I don't add the disclaimer to my reviews, others always do.
This Review Group leaves it up to the individual authors to decide.
I haven't joined a group yet, but I would like to be a part of this group if there is still room.My Book

Are we allowed to join 2 rounds at one time?If so, do you still have room?
If all the above is a yes, I'll join. :)

Sarah, I've heard from Cearuil and he's attempting to sort out his author profile as we speak, so he'll be our tenth member. However I'll be starting up other groups soon. I suggest that you might find an 18+ group a little more suitable for your work than a 'general'.
And Tamara, its one group at a time I'm afraid. I've just signed you up to the 'clean' group.
I'm being patient Ceruil, as are the other members of this group, but you still haven't got your author profile sorted out.
Cearúil does have an author profile:https://www.goodreads.com/author/show...
He may need to claim it (e.g. tell Goodreads it's him) - Cearúil, scroll down to the bottom of the page and you will see a line saying "Is this you? Let us know".
Good luck!
Mike
I've just checked, and Cearuil has finally got his author profile set up. Might have been better if you'd let me know.....I'll get the group set up ASAP.
Snow melting rapidly here in New York City today, I'm pleased to say. In fact it feels like very early spring.
START DATE: 2nd Feb 2016 END DATE: 29th March 2016
Round 1 – post your review by 16th Feb 2016
Round 2 – post your review by 1st march 2016
Round 3 – post your review by 15th March 2016
Round 4 – post your review by 29th march 2016
Please remember the commitment you are making to your fellow group members. If you pull out after the start date for any reason it is the other members who will be faced with the problem of finding a replacement, or missing out on reviews, through no fault of their own. Please don’t ask the moderators to chase after replacements as we just don’t have the time.
It is the responsibility of the author to get their book to their reviewer in a format the reviewer can manage. Everyone must be able to accept PDF. There are no set dates for the start of each round. You can each work at your own pace, within the limits of the round deadlines.
When you have posted your reviews, please post the three links to your reviews in this thread.
All reviews must be posted to GR, Amazon .com and Amazon.co.uk.
Postings to any other sites are by agreement by both author and reviewer.
If I’ve missed something that results in you being asked to review someone who has already reviewed you, please let me know asap.
To exchange book files, my advice is to use PM to give email addresses to each other (save the chance of spammers getting your addies from this open forum). I'll stay with you until your mod (Noorilhuda) takes over as your group moderator. Happy reviewing, everyone :)

Seems I cannot PM Jacob Stanley as the message option does not appear on his profile. So, Jacob, PM me with the format (.mobi or .pdf) and the email address you'd like me to use. I suspect everyone you're assigned to review will need the same info.
Hi folks,I didn't pick up on the author approval coming through. Sorry for delaying things. Such is life but apologies nonetheless.
Anyway on with the show.
Enjoy yourselves,
Cearúil
Wow, folks are really on it! I've sent out all four copies and received one already. Yay! Reading material!

If you don’t agree to that tell me now so that I can find another member who will do so.
There is no genre filtering.
If you are only willing to review your own preferred genres then sorry, but you’re better off finding a group that specialises in your preference, or joining one of the 18+ rounds or a ‘clean’ review round. In this general group you might be asked to review fiction/non-fiction, adults’/children’s books, a religious text, BDSM, or anything in between. Allocation is entirely random and there will NOT be any rearranging of the listing to accommodate genre preference. The ONLY circumstance in which you may duck out of giving a review is if YOU provide a stand-in reviewer.
Let’s be honest here – we don’t all like the same things but we all want reviews. Please consider each book as an example of its genre and length. A novella or short story is not going to have the same length/complexity of story/character arc as a full length novel. The only way this group can function is if we trust each other to behave honourably. And it IS perfectly possible to give a fair-minded review of a text that does not coincide with our normal choice of reading matter. If you need a few hints/tips, please see this thread:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/...
Do not sign up until you have completed all your reviews in another review round in the group.
Make sure you have an author profile set up before you join and that your book is available for sale on amazon.
Please let me know as you sign up if you have been reviewed by, or have reviewed another author in the group. It is permissible to review an author more than once if a different book is available, but reciprocal reviews within the group are strictly prohibited.
Your group mod will be Noorilhuda
