Hey! I still haven't gotten the book from the library, but I think I should have it by Wednesday.Do you want to follow a reading schedule or just check in every once in a while?
I do better with checking in and using spoiler tags. I read a lot of books each month and have to breeze through them quickly.
That works for me! I'll let you know as soon as I have it. I'm pretty busy this month but usually buddy reads I stay on task for because I want to be able to discuss. :D
I just got the email that it came into the library, I'll be picking it up tomorrow and then I can get started. :D
Finished!! I really liked this book. Once I started I couldn't stop listening until I was completely finished. The narrator did a terrific job. I loved his brother. He is everything a sibling should be. Loving and supportive no matter what the circumstances. (view spoiler) I don't remember much of the movie since it's been so long since I've seen it. I think I'll watch it again now that the book is fresh in my mind.
Oh wow! I'll get on it, I've been sick this last week so so I'm horribly behind! But I'm finally feeling better so I will get reading! :D
No rush. Get to it whenever you get a chance. I forgot to mention that thanks to this book I've had the song Total Eclipse of the Heart stuck in my head for days.
Oh awesome! I've never seen the movie so I'm excited to read this and then be able to FINALLY watch the movie.
I started it, I'm about halfway and I promise I will be done in the next couple days! I'm dedicating all of Saturday to catching up on all of my books!I think that might become a permanent thing for me because it's so hard for me to read during the work week.
I finished! I'm struggling a little with my thoughts about it though. I think I'm going to end up rating it 2 stars though I can't decide between 2 or 3 stars. I enjoyed reading it and it was easy to read and I was engage and interested. But at the beginning I really struggled to like Pat and that kinda increased throughout the book. Towards the end I was liking him a little better but a lot of the characters seem really flat to me.
And I was disappointed by finding out what set Pat off, I thought it was going to be a little more... I don't even know what. I just thought his thoughts about Nikki and even Tiffany were just horrible sometimes.
I guess I'm struggling with this book.
I watched the movie as soon as I finished the book and I liked it so much better than the book. AND THAT'S SO RARE!
I thought Tiffany was more of a character and the dad was a little more fleshed out. The book also gave more context to Pat's mental illness and actually named it as something that he had been dealing with for his whole life but it was the incident with Nikki that sent him over the edge. And that solved a lot of my problems with the book.
Sorry for ranting, and I'm so sad I didn't like it that much, I was expecting something completely different before I started.
Sucks you didn't like it more. I've seen the movie but it's been a while and I don't remember much about it or even what I thought of it. Maybe I should watch it again
