This is a novel that I would've never picked up by my own choice. I am not one for contrmporary romance, but I think this book has changed my mind. This book has taught me so much about what it means to love, and how helpless that can feel. Too often people fall into love and believe that it's all going to be happy, and then they give up as soon as they hit a bump in the road. No. By reading Sydney's and Ridge's story I have learned that love isn't happiness. As ironic as it seems, sometimes love is heartbreak. Love is pain. Love is confusion. Love is being torn between two things that seem so right. The bad that comes with love allows you to gain a better perspective on the good. Those who stay in love through all the bad are the ones who are truly in love. Those are the ones who are allowed to experience all the good that comes with love. And the good is so good you often forget about the bad. I've learned all of this from this one book that I would've never picked up by my own choice, but I am glad that I did.

But what made you read it?"Somebody wanted to do a buddy read and I've been meaning to read more contemporary novels, and now here I am in love with this book lol. That's why I'm trying to start my own buddy reads group so maybe others can have the same thing occur, but it's hard getting members lol
