That is awesome. I stopped smoking in 1998 and never felt so good about any other decision. In less than 1 year I could already feel the difference in my breathing, my stamina and overall health. Good luck to you on your goals!

Now to cut out the junk food. But it tastes so good. Very hard to stand firm on that with a house full of junk food fans.

Thank you Diamond :)

Do you drink anything but water and coffee? Are any drinks good for you other than water?

Nomagugu Chelsie (penguin93) Sugar.... My downfall.

I usually can handle the no-sugar diet but it's summer here and it's ridiculously hot and I love ice-cream!!! But I have to quite it, the sugar free stuff tastes horrible to me so i just have to completely stop.

Is anyone here vegetarian? I'm thinking of heading in that direction, I find myself passing on meat more often than not lately. Pointers?

I drink a proteen shake from Isagenix. It has all the vitamins and minnerals needed in a day. Also you can try insure or Boost to name a few.

Awesome! Good luck to you.. But give yourself a cheat day once a week or once every two weeks, with the sweets/snacks/fast food (if you eat that)... Just don't deprive yourself completely. Otherwise you'll fall off the "junk food wagon" and feel horribly about it afterward. :)

Try some "Skinny Cow" ice cream. Love this ice cream it's a Godsend. And it's low fat. Great flavors, half the calories. So you can totally treat yourself without over doing it or suffering with the no sugar thing :)

I never planned on being a Vegan. But like you I found myself after I changed certain things, I would automatically choose the healthier option without even thinking about it. Cos that's what I craved. So now I will say 90% of my diet is vegan. But, you have to be careful. If you're gonna cut out meat altogether, make sure you either take an iron supplement, or eat very iron rich foods ALOT. Or do both.. Chicken, Fish, Prunes, Raisins, certain greens. Oh! and Veggie burgers are awesome to me. I love the Garden ones, the black bean, Chick peas, tons of em. But it's still good to eat at least 1 burger a week or every other week. I kinda have to because I'm anemic. So if I'm eating like a regular burger, I'll just do a lean ground beef one with a slice of cheese and fresh cut tomato on top, no bun. And pair that with some greens of some kind or mixed veggie dish :D

You're welcome :)

Cheat days, they really do help you stay on track with your healthy eating habits. Plus, you feel like you're rewarding yourself for all your hard work without going overboard. Eventually, sooner than you realize, choosing the healthier option will become like second nature to you & you'll realize whether you have a cheat day or not, it won't make a difference to you. Basically you'll have to make yourself cheat. if that makes any sense?

I doubt that's available in my part of the world. plus I'm sucker for Magnum or the french vanilla ice cream at this tea garden tucked away a beautiful corner of the city.

The fat is not a problem it's just the sugar. It's not a weight thing it's a skin thing. have one ice cream and I spend the next two weeks looking like the before picture in an acne treatment add.

I've tried all products and nothing seems to work. The scars are horrible and annoying but I'm not a big fan of the amount of makeup I'd take to cover this up. No-sugar works for me that I'm sure as I've practiced it throughout most of last year but its summer now and I keep finding myself looking in the mirror and hating last night's impulsive ice cream binge.

 ~*~Princess Nya Vasiliev~*~ (abbaschild7748) Oh Nomagugu , I'm so sorry..

So is it the no sugar added stuff that you don't like or causes the skin problems? Cos almost everything has sugar in it to a degree. I do know that I like the No sugar added on alot of things, rather than the sugar free

Sugar free, more often than not is just gross to me too. That weird after taste it leaves. Plus the substitutions they put in it, to replace natural sugar aren't good for you either.

Have you already tried to test out how your skin responds to Sugar Free vs. No Sugar Added ?

 ~*~Princess Nya Vasiliev~*~ (abbaschild7748) ETA:
I apologize. I got so hyped in telling you guys about this cleanse that I only gave you the recipe that works best for me.

Typically, you are to do 2-8oz glasses of water, back to back, with a 1/2 tsp of baking soda in each.

**Remember to do the cleanse on an empty stomach, in the morning before you eat anything.
But again, depending on your state of health, diet etc.. 1 glass with 1/2 tsp of baking soda may be enough. Others may have to take two glasses back to back. It just depends. Something you'll have to feel out & tweak for yourself. But it definitely works :)

Another thing I wanted to let you guys know about is this awesome cleanse that you don't have to pay all this money for etc.. and it works I promise! You only need to do it once every two- three months, depending on your diet/lifestyle.

**Warning**
Just please when you do it, make sure you don't have to do ANYTHING that entire day. Okay?

Here it is. My hubby has done this as well. And it's his go to cleanse.

It has to be done in the morning before you eat anything.

One 8oz glass of water. Mix with a 1/4 or 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda. Drink it all down quickly. And that's it.

This is great for just flushing your system and also if you want to get a great jump start on changing your diet/habits with foods and working out.

Not to mention all the money and time you'll save on not using the other cleanses that causes you to starve yourself for days.

No i haven't tried that but I'll compare.

I know I'm ok with coke zero but I still get problems with coke light. It's stuff like candy, sodas, flavored yogurts, ice cream, sugar in my tea, baked goods e.t.c that are the problem. the more "natural sugars" like in my fruits and stuff is ok. If it's low fat but still has sugar it's no good for me, I can rather do no sugar without the reduced fat.

LOL! Yeah it's not bad scary though. But if you don't know how you'll respond, it's best to do it when you know you have nowhere to be. Cos it may affect you for most of the day or it may just be an hour or two and then you're good. Either way. it's awesome. You'll feel great afterward.

Oh you're braver than I! But I guess what you eat also plays a big role in it. Cause here regular food is all organic. It's only with processed stuff that we have to worry about "where and how it was grown" and all that otherwise everything from our cows, chickens, crops and all are grown naturally or fed fresh grass or feeds that don't affect their natural goodness much so we can probably eat a lot more and have it not affect us as badly. Unless you're a junk food junkie

So usually as long as you work out you're usually good. So I think also as much as you're eating less just make sure it's healthy and detox every now and then.

Anyone wanna uproot to where I am? lol

Those are good goals Vicki. Each time you are about to eat something try to identify the reason. If it is because you are hungry that is good. If it is because you are nervis or board try to make an other decision like read or write or go for a walk. Something creative will really help.
