Summary:

This book is about a man named Alex Honnold. Only a few years ago Alex was only known in his small circle of rock climbing friends. However now Alex is probably one of the most famous climbers in the world. There are two reasons why Alex is so well known. One reason is because he's an amazing rock climber and the other is because he climbs with no gear. This type of climbing is called "Free soloing." This book tells you about Alex's seven most astonishing climbs, and all the work that went into each one.

Personal Reaction:

I thought this book was pretty interesting but it was kind of boring. I like books with a fair amount of action and this book didn't have much of that. It did have a lot of information on rock climbing equipment and the different styles of rock climbing, which was interesting. Also the stories that he tells are amazing. It's hard to believe that it's possible for a human to climb for hours at a time, with no equipment to give aid. Something that I didn't like was some of the language used. It is infrequent but there is swearing scattered throughout the entire book.
