HUge crowd ( sadly bordering on too big for the shop to handle) meant tons of cosplayers, but pickings were slim for free comics.
Got some good cheap back issues, saw some cool costumes and had an awesome shwarma for lunch.
Crazy, but fun day.

anyone attend FCBD 2015?
Crowds were crazy, so it was almost more stress than fun for my family.
Did get some nice comics and, as family tradition, we went out for schwarma for lunch.
Think next year we'll stay home and just hang out at our local shop.

So FCBD 2016 is coming up and it's the same day I'm going to see Civil War, so don't know if I'll be able to get to my local shop.
I have very mixed emotions about this day.

So, was able to make quick stops at my local shops before going to see Civil War.
Got a decent stack of comics and a couple discounted TPBs.
Disappointed at how feeble marvel and DC's offerings were.

FCBD 2017: Going to hit the local shops before going to see Guardians 2
I'll post some reviews if I get anything good.
Anyone else attending the festivities?

Well, a now have a huge stack of comics and just watched an awesome movie.
I'll pass along a few reviews of the good stuff.
I'll pass along a few reviews of the good stuff.
Few reviews:
2,000AD: I really need to read more of this British anthology as it has been around for a million years and contains so much more than just Judge Dredd.
Avatar: Kind of nice to see the movie continuing as a comic, but the story is pretty generic.
Blood strike #1: not a free comic, but something I got out of the special fifty cent box one of my LCS put out.
Decent art, but the writing is so bad I feel someone owes me 48 cents.
Underdog: Nice to see him back. Decent sense of humor and the reprint from the 70's Gold Key was fun.

Anybody else go?
Went to a friends' kids birthday party, so I didn't get to a shop until later in the day, but got a bunch of free stuff and about a half dozen things from the sale back issue box.

The shop by my son's college is running a huge sale, Gail Simone is doing a signing and you can have your picture taken with a replica of the Bumblebee car from Transformers.
Looking forward to this big time.
