I'm in! Here's the promo for "Piperverse."https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=umlkw...
(By the way, you Drinkshares folk are a hoot!)
You are all set. Keep em coming everyone.
Paul, you might want to make your trailer public. It is currently unlisted on YouTube.

Joe wrote: "You are all set. Keep em coming everyone."Joe,
I visited the Cooperative Youtube page and only see the Piperverse trailer there and none of the others from this thread. Do we need to do something on our end?
I see the Piperverse trailer and the Space Sloth trailer. Maybe it's just a matter of time for all of them to show up.Man, I wish I had the tech and know-how to make a book trailer.
Nothing you need to do on your end. The trailers are there and there is a slider to see more, but based on your comments I made one change. The playlist was sorted by most popular. I adjusted it to sort by newest added. This promotes visibility for new additions rather than reinforcing the most viewed.
Thanks Joe! I didn't notice the little arrow on the right side the first time. Christopher, It doesn't have to be fancy (mine certainly isn't)
Just write a short script and take a video of you or someone making the pitch. Something is better than nothing!
The creativity of your pitch is probably more convincing (and important) than the special effects filled videos anyway.
Or hook up with someone who likes to make fancy special effects videos.
Point is your project is on a clock and it is ticking! So get something out there! Video is something that Many potential backers like or want to see. They want to see and hear your pitch, rather than just read it.
It is easy to set up a Youtube (or Vimeo) account and upload your video, once you make it.
And many people here, myself included will help guide you through it if you get stuck at any point.
I did mine with one take - no editing software involved - and the microphone was the one on the phone. I'm spread thin with my time so I just did enough to get my message across. You are already well into your campaign. So instead of wishing you had this or that, put something simple together and upload it!
If later you put together the new microphone and the voice training and the video editing software etc, etc, and have an improved super-high-tech version, you can replace the one you did this weekend:-)
No excuses! (or at least no more lamenting or "wishing")

Hearing how you made yours makes me less self-conscious. I've been wanting to make one, but the fact that it would end up having to be just me talking recorded by my phone's camera made me feel rather silly. I suppose I should make up my mind on a pitch to use during the video and get on with it.
No shame Thomas! I'd love to have had the time (and talent) for one of those fancy videos that most of our fellow authors do, but I had to settle for what I could accomplish on very short notice. For my next project (The Inkshares Authors Anthology), it will be a totally different story. I will have a long lead time to plan a campaign and will have help from over a dozen co-authors and maybe others from this forum!
Everything will be carefully planned and the video will be semi-professionally created.
When I put Journey up, Inkshares was in its infancy (only 30 projects on the whole site!) And only two or three of those were already funded.
I stumbled across it online in 2014 and said "this is perfect for what I want to accomplish." I slapped together a crude project page that first day and started trying to fund it that night. It was all seat of your pants, learn as you go, trial by fire and error. There were no big success stories yet to emulate and No Forums for Inkshares authors to congregate!
I'll never do it like that again, but am happy for the experience.
So YES, I highly recommend that you do what you have the time and the equipment for!
Good luck Thomas!
Adding mine to the mix :)

For the record, I LOVE making little videos for contests and such and this Inkshares contest was no exception. I had an absolute blast making my special-effects filled promo for Piperverse...but it did not translate into preorders and the time I spent cobbling the video together probably would have been better spent campaigning and networking with the other contestants. What I'm saying is TALK INTO A CAMERA AND SLAP SOMETHING UP THERE!
Yeah trailers do not seem to convert well. Upside of having the playlist is there's one more avenue of discovery, especially when it's people who are coming in already interested in Inkshares.
Thanks for this opportunity to share the promo video for my memoir, "Nowhere Else I Want to Be" coming out in November 2016.https://youtu.be/lrN-zNlmuX8
I just did my first video about a book (Scribbles) but I'm not sure if it counts as a trailer or not. Either way, here's the link and just let me know if it should be removed from this thread or not xDhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0HmMb...
Here's mine. Comes with the added bonus of starting an ARG: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HPU-Q...
Got notifs for this and realized I should probably toss this trailer out for your consideration . . .https://youtu.be/U4YIk8XHwk8

I've got a new project up in the Video Game contest called Stage Clear. The video explanation of it can be found at:https://youtu.be/BB6KZgbpHMo
Thanks for considering it.
Added. My wife pre-ordered your book last time. I'm going to ask her if she is still interested.
Can't add the Vimeo ones since the channel is on YouTube. If you upload a video to YouTube I can add it to the playlist.
