Chris Keane | 47 comments Hello All!

Glad to see the YA and MG Fiction Group is growing :)

I am trying to promote via Twitter, and having trouble identifying readers. There are many writers on there, promoting their work. Do you know of any #s that would help target fiction lovers/addicts ;)

Thanks!
Chris

G.L. Wilson | 2 comments In the UK there is a brilliant group 'YA chat'. #UKYAchat. They meet once every week or so. It's worth searching to see if there is a similar US group.
Also just put in #MG and search - it should throw up like minded readers, writers and bloggers.

Jen Garrett | 100 comments I've found Twitter is not as effective for "cold promoting" books. What I mean is I tend to ignore "Read this great book" tweets. However, there are ways to use twitter as part of your promotion.

For example, you can have a blog tour that stops on Twitter for an #Authorchat (or #asktheauthor). Post the schedule on your blog and gather readers who will "attend" by sharing your blog post via social media. That is, before the chat you can tweet about it with the link to the details - "I'll be live at this time to answer questions about my book on twitter #Authorchat" etc.
Then have a moderator (not you) tweet questions during the 'live' chat and retweet questions that others are asking.
