━━[ the portrait ]
Armed with large, dark, sparkling eyes, a mischievous smile, a button nose and chubby cheeks, one may think that Rosie Kells is entirely harmless. Her fair complexion compliments her long, silky fox brown hair, combed carefully each day so not a strand is out of place. Her tall and slender physique often misleads people into thinking that she’s one of the oldest in her year, but she’s actually one of the youngest, and when she’s not wearing her school robes, you’re likely to find her in the latest designer clothes ━ simple yet elegant and chic.
━━[ the home ]
Rosie Kells is a single child and comes from a rich family. Both her parents are wizards or witches and had one muggle parent, so it technically makes her a half-blood, but her family is far more influential in the muggle world than the wizarding world. Her family wants to extend their influence into the wizarding world more too, and with Rosie Kells exposed to far more magic than her parents had, they think they have a pretty good shot.
Before Hogwarts, her parents made sure she was well educated in the culture of the wizarding world— after all, she could very well have ended up a squib, and if she did have magic, then she would have gotten a head start. This was perhaps how Rosie Kells’ love for knowledge came to be. Although her parents were strict, they were also fair, and for every drop of magical knowledge she had, they made sure she knew about Muggle culture as well, and although her knowledge isn’t quite as extensive on Muggle matters as she is on magical matters, she still has enough to survive if she’d ended up as a squib. Of course, she ended up being a magical child.
Since Rosie Kells doesn’t have any siblings, both her parents can afford to devote all their love and attention to her, but were strict with her so she wouldn’t end up helpless if she had to be on her own. However, she’s not as close to her parents as she’d like to be anymore, because of the distance between school and home, and the increasing pressure to gain connections. Not that she has any complaints, and she knows it’s for the best for herself as well as her parents, but she secretly wishes that she can spend more time with her parents at home, instead of going to one social event after another.
━━[ the persona ]
Rosie Kells — just hearing her name either makes you love her or hate her. She’s the kind of person who has naturally good looks, good grades, a knack for languages, even though she seems that she doesn’t try hard for these qualities — which can get pretty infuriating. She’s open-minded, kind, and has a passion for knowledge unrivalled by many. With her interest in history, relics, and her ambition to help her family gain connections, some might think she should have been a Slytherin instead. But then again, her interest in history is just amplified interest in any sort of knowledge she can get her hands on, and her wanting to gain connections for her family? That’s just her performing her duties — and if these connections help her learn even more, that’s even better.
At Hogwarts, Rosie Kells seems to get along with everybody, but looking closer, she’s actually a bit of a loner. Any true attachment and affection from her is incredibly hard earned, both platonic and romantic, since Muggleborn and Half-bloods, even Purebloods alike have come to her hoping to gain favours, not just connections, and after a disastrous third year involving a screaming match between her and her former best friend, she's not quite sure she wants to have a best friend ever again. She’s never quite been an outcast, but she’s never quite had a close friend she could confide to either ever since the incident, so when she’s not mingling with the crowd, she’s usually found in the library, getting her hands on the latest additions to Hogwarts’ collection, or rereading the entire history section for the fifth time.
