Here are your May Challenges!

RULES

** Books DO NOT all have to be mysteries. You can use any genres.

** A book can only be used once for this challenge, but can be used for other challenges (Seasonal, World Trip, Ultimate, etc.).

** You DO NOT have to choose books in advance, and can change your mind at any time if you do.

** Do as many as you are able and have fun!

1. May is National Barbecue Month, National Hamburger Month and National Salad Month. May 15 is National Chocolate Chip Day, May 20 is Pick Strawberries Day, May 24th is National Escargot Day, and May 11 is Eat What You Want Day — Are you sensing a theme here? Read a book that features food (orchards and farmers' markets would work here as well as cooking/restaurant books).

2. The third week in May is National Police Week and May 15 Police Officer's Memorial Day — Read a book in which one of the characters is a police officer (does not have to be a main character -- sheriffs and police detectives are included).

3. May 1 is Save the Rhino Day — Read a book in which someone’s life is in danger.

4. May 3 is National Teachers Day — Read a book set at a school, or in which someone takes some sort of class (i.e.: cooking, knitting, photography, book binding, etc)

5. May 13 is Blame Someone Else Day — Read a book in which someone is falsely accused.

.

I just picked up Archie in the Crosshairs by Robert Goldsborough not long ago. Who'd want to kill Archie Goodwin?

What were you thinking of specifically? Nero Wolfe evaluating various beers or having a discussion with Fritz Brenner about a dinner nenu?

I have way too many books for that category in my infinite TBR

Kimberly | 678 comments Ok, I finally got to my personal challenge folder. I will keep track of my progress here. These categories are so broad this month, I'm not worried about looking for the books now. I'm sure some of the books I choose to read this month will just fit. Like the first ones already listed... One I'm reading for this week's Culinary Bingo theme (features food, of course) and the other is this month's featured author (someone is falsely accused). :) And, I think one of my Spring challenge books I started today will fit another category (about the school). I just wanted to read it to be positive it fit. :)
