For delving back in time, we're going to be reading Alison Weir's Innocent Traitor.

Focusing on the wonderful figure of Lady Jane Grey, and the tumultuous time of the sixteenth century, it sounds like a wonderful exciting novel! (and we can learn a bit of history along the way!

Discussion starts 1st May.

This was about Jane Grey, correct?

Cindy (BKind2Books) (bkind2books) | 1196 comments Yes, it was.

The author is a historian and I think I read that this was her first fiction (I'm think she's published non-fiction works on this time period.) The attention to detail shows and in the afterword, she said that much of it was taken from the historical records. The Tudor period is very interesting to me - I did a term paper on Henry VIII in high school (40+ years ago). The author did a great job of telling Lady Jane's story.

Allison Weir is the favorite author of a friend who is quite picky about her reading. She recently recommended her book on Elizabeth the First with all of her thumbs. I found the coincidence interesting. Definitely putting Weir on my TBR.
