Bana AZ (anabana_a) | 836 comments I'm reading this for the week where there's a first name in the title, "Ava".

It can also be for the beautiful cover, but I already have a book for that week. I think the title is also pretty beautiful.

The Strange and Beautiful Sorrows of Ava Lavender is a young adult magic realism book. It's about a girl who was born with wings. We get to find out a bit of her family history, starting with her great grandmother. So far, it kind of reminds me of Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides.

Valerie | 390 comments I read this book for the ATY 2019 Challenge Week 45: Multi-generational saga

Everyone in Ava's family is weird, or gifted, depending on your point of view. And, it goes back generations. All Ava wants is to be normal, be accepted, and fit in. How is that possible, when she is so different...And people say her mother and grandmother are witches. It is a dilemma for Ava, as well as, most teens...even if their moms aren't witches.
