Laegolas walked across the bridge that went over the waterfall. It was currently early summer and the water from the mountain tops full of snow was melting making the water a cold temperature. It was good for going for a swim. Of course that wasn't what Laegolas was planning to do. He was actually on his way to the palace after returning from a small patrol with his elite team.
Alkia rode in through the gate at breakneck speed stopping only just before reaching the prince. Nor,ally he wouldn't be so reckless as to brag into a city unannounced, but the news that he carried was to important to wait. So once he'd managed to get Farlow to a complete stop, he he asked with an exhausted pant, "sir have you seen the king, I bring important news from along the border that needs to be delivered to him at once."
"I am currently on my way to the palace to see the king," Laegolas said, bowing slightly out of respect, like he was taught.
"Thank you, would you mind taking me to him," Alkia replied as he returned the bow with a nod and a smile.
"Of course," Laegolas before starting to walk again, once again heading towards the palace. Even though he was walking, he had long strides so he ended up being a bit faster than normal walking speed.
"Thanks, name's Alkia by the way," the young dragon child said as he took to riding along side him until the the palace stood before him and Alkia couldn't help but stop and stare in awe at it's beauty and might.
"A pleasure to meet you Alkia. I am prince Laegolas," Laegolas said, walking inside the palace after a brief moment. There was no reason to wait, considering he could go, pretty much where ever he wanted.
"Pleasure to meet you too, your highness," Alkia replied as he dismount Farlow with a beat of his wings and quickly followed the prince into the palace, and ask while taking in all the fine architecture around him, "So I'm guessing your father's in the throne room?"
"Yes," Laegolas said. His father rarely left the throne room anymore. Although Laegolas didn't know why that was. His father should be in bed, getting better, not sitting on the throne.
"Okay, thanks again," Alkia replied as he pushed open the door and entered the throne room and was taken aback at the Kings frail and sickly appearance. How were these people suppose to fight the darkness encroaching on their world when their king couldn't even look at him straight. Still he quickly composed himself and with a bow, he delivered his peace. "Your majesty pardon my sudden intrusion. I'm Alkia, messanger of the dragon children, and I come with terrible news. I have spotted shades on your northern border."
The king frowned deep in though. Laegolas had walked over to stand next to his father, in his place. He had heard what Alkia had said. "Father, I could take my team to the northern border to assess the situation and if possible deal with it," He said. The king thought for a moment. "Very well. Gather your team Laegolas," The king said with a slight wave of his hand. Laegolas bowed respectfully before starting to head back out to gather his team.
"Thank you, your majesties, and I'll personally lead your men to the sight of the last attack, " Alkia replied with a thankful bow before dashing out of the palace and mounting Farlow again while he waited for the prince to arrive with his men. So that they could get going as soon as possible.
Laegolas returned quickly with his team. It was himself, a tall limber male elf with black hair, and a beautiful female elf with red hair. All were ready to travel and all had horses already. two black ones for the male and female and then a white one for Laegolas. "We are ready to head out," Laegolas said
"Alright, a quick warning, the enemy that we're about to face can literally appear out of thin air and feeds off of negative emotions. So make sure keep your eyes and ears sharp and your minds clear," Alkia said in a rare serious tone as he beckoned for the elven party to follow as he rode off out of the city and into the forest.
The three elves followed, with Laegolas in the lead. They would have no problem keeping their minds clear. It was common practice for elves to clear their minds.
The young dragon child lead the elves along the main road until they came across an overturned horse cart. Surveying the scene, Alkia could see that the horse had bolted the scene and left it's master to have his throat torn out by something with wicked sharp teeth and to have his wife be crushed by cart. "Those demons have move further south than I thought, search the area, they may still be nearby," Alkia said trying to remain detached so as to not to bring their enemy upon them, but it was easier said then done when stairing such carnage in the face.
The male and female elf nodded and dismounted before heading off into separate directions to search the area. Laegolas dismounted, but stayed.
All the young child could do was look on in horror, he understood who did this and why, but his mind couldn't wrap itself around this fact. Still he didn't have a longtime to dwell on his thoughts, as he suddenly heard a cry coming from underneath the cart and without thinking, dismount and tried with all his might to lift it to get to whoever was underneath.
Laegolas quickly went over to the cart and helped lift it. It was fairly easy for him, partially because he was quiet strong, also because he was tall
"Thanks," Alkia said as he crawled under to find a little girl cowering in fear in dark. The young halfling smiled, at least there was one survivor he thought as he made his way over to the small child, trying to comfort her as he slowly made moved to pull her out from under the cart as he doubted the prince would be able to hold the cart up for much longer. So with the warmest voice his twelve year old body could muster, he tried to coax the little elfling out,"Why hello there, it's okay we're not going to hurt you."
Laegolas smiled kindly. He was doing fine holding up the cart for now, but it may only be a few more minutes before his arms started getting weak and he wouldn't be able to hold up the cart any longer.
After some coaxing Alkia managed to get the young child out from under the cart. Still trying to keep a smile on his face despite the carnage, he'd thought that he'd try one of his jokes for the child's sake, "thanks for the lift, you know if the whole prince thing doesn't work out, I know a couple of circuses in need of a strong man," he said with a smirk as he got a small giggle out of the child.
Laegolas laughed softly, setting the cart down. "I think I'll stay with my people. They need me," He said, kneeling down to the elfling's level. "Do not worry, little one. Your safe now,"
For a moment all of them laughed without a care in a world until that moment ended when the the child saw her parents torn up bodies and ran to them, shaking them and screaming for them to wake up. Alkia wax at a complete lost at what to do and could only look to Laegolas for answers.
Laegolas walked over to the sylpth child and knelt down, holding the sylpth child comfortingly in his arms. He spoke comforting words in sylpth tongue.((I just realized we've been saying elf and it's sylpth))
((Well considering that your pretty much playing Legolas from Lord of The Rings, I think the confusion was inevitable. ))
Alkia wished he could joined them in their embrace, but what could say. The child's parents had literally been torn limb from limb by demons from hell and there was no way to sugar coat that. In the end he opted to take to the skies in search of the Devils, as he knew that all the negative emotion coming from this place would attract them like moths to a flame.

((Yeah))Laegolas comforted the child until the child had calmed down. He then picked the child up and placed her on his horse. "Ride to Kyonin. You will be safe there, and loved," He said
"The bloody idiot," Alkia cursed as he watch the prince send the kid off on her own in a dangerous area. Seriously, it was like sending a sheep into a wolf's den, something was bound to happen and sure enough, he he spotted a pack of them closing in the girl as she rode towards the city. "What did I say, like clockwork," Alkia groaned as he swooped down and cut the demons of with his wings spread wide, "now we can ether do this the easy way or the hard way," he said with a smirk as the only respond he got from them was a roar, "guess it's hard way them," with that he cleared his mind and began to shoot fire and the enemy shades.
Laegolas and the two other elves in his team appeared out of no where. They started helping fight of the shades. All three had clear minds.
((Okay, I'll make a post there, and you guys can respond whenever you're done fighting off the demons here))
Alkia torched the shade he was currently wrestling with before noticing a large clearing nearby, the perfect place for him to change into his dragon form and end this battle before anyone was lost. So quickly shouted out to the rest of his party before running into the clearing, "herd them towards me, I've got a idea!"
Laegolas nodded and relayed the orders to his team in sylpth. The three began to herd the shades towards the clearing.
Alkia watched as the shades were herded towards him with claws and teeth bared and ready to kill, "okay here goes nothing," he said to himself as he will his body to morph into that of a handsome snow white dragon, with claws of steel and eyes of flame. This transformation caused the shades to pause for a moment, but second to late as the young drake released a fiery inferno upon the demons, torching half of them where they stood and severely burn the rest of them, making them easy targets for the pointy ear archers.
The rest of the shades were easy picking for the sylpths. Laegolas took down the last shade. After that he relaxed slightly.
When all the shades had been picked off, Alkia look down at the rested of the of the party and smirked. "Hey, I just transformed at cute little fairy into a bloody dragon, seriously does nothing surprise you guys," he said shaking his head as he turned to see that young girls horse had been spooked into running towards the crystal cove, "okay who's bright idea was to let the girl ride home alone?" He asked as he took to the skies after the horse and girl. Not waiting for the elves or their answer.
Laegolas rolled his eyes and took the female sylpth's horse before heading after the two, towards crystal cove.
