Sometimes I want to slap all the characters in this book but during these particular chapters, none more than the brothers Renly and Stannis Baratheon. Poor Catelyn, trying to be the voice of reason between these two manbabies. Theon deserved a bit of a slappage too and I can't deny I loved Asha and her ruse.
So many decisions and deaths due to the power struggles in this game of thrones and everyone always ignores the commoners who go hungry and die and see their children die.
Catelyn chapters definitly improved in this one compared to the first, I don't have to force myself to read them anymore. Stannis is so annoying, though. I definitely do agree a lot of characters deserve a good slap.
It's frustrating that Theon does have doubts about what would be more honorable. He keeps thinking about what would Ned or Robb say about him, and yet he does his best to impress his father, two things that have absolutely nothing in common. *talk about slapping someone*I can see how Stannis considers that he has the right to the iron throne, but he keeps making enemies at every step of the way. He is brainwashed and he wasn't even a great and lovable person before meeting Melissandre. He expects everyone to acknowledge him as the king but he doesn't do anything to deserve that title. It's like *bow to me. -but y?- because i say so.*
So true! Like he has the right to the iron throne but instead of trying to be a good king and stuff he's just like oh I'm gonna start a cult and control everyone just because I want to.
I forgot how annoying Hot Pie was! When he yielded right away, blowing their cover, I was like what an idiot.
I so agree about Stannis. He should've kept his eyes on the prize, aligned with Robb or Renly even, and fought the Lannisters together. What a waste.
