Is apologetics dying?

How's this for a fun 1st topic. Now i'm busy reading John C. Lennox: God And Stephen Hawking.
It's one thing to prove God, It's another to say something specific about THAT God.
Apologetics is definitely dying. Many Christians hold their own opinions in higher esteem than the Bible. Often their defense of their doctrine is an appeal to their own human logic.
This will be a good topic when more people are attracted to this group. I don't think apologetics is dying, I see growth in apologetics groups I associate with on college campuses. I think there is a lack of understanding of apologetics and people turn away when honest debate turns to territorial sparring. Questioning sources, issues and conclusions is fair game. When defense of the gospel turns offensive those of genuine character, regardless of persuasion, vacate the field.
Eric wrote: "When defense of the gospel turns offensive those of genuine character, regardless of persuasion, vacate the field..."Jude 3-4
3 Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you, and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
4 For there are certain men crept in unawares , who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men , turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness, and denying the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ.

I think it's actually dying quickly.
Many church goers are finding out that they really cannot do apologetics with their current Biblical worldview. And since they don't want to change it --- they simply STOP.
And many areas of cultish theology fail the simplest of tests. As does their chances at lasting 5 minutes with a slightly educated Atheist.
