I'm currently running a competition on my site for readers to send in a picture with my book, so should be able to post some soon :)
Oh, and how about photos of our books in bookstores? I bet we are in fifty stores all around the globe?
I'm in the process of getting it into a major bookshop in the UK but could take a while. I do have it in some independent shops around Liverpool though,
You need a Nielsen registered ISBN. I'm currently talking to local Libraries as I'm registered with the British Library, the book is on the Waterstones website but I am just working on getting it available to be sold in store, which is a whole different ball game to getting it on their online website!
OK. Pic is loaded. The pic is part of a pretty fun story. I'll give the Readers Digest Abridged version...
I self-pub'd in Jan 2014. Part of my 'marketing' strategy was to try and find some social media influencers to help boost awareness of my book. I really like the show Supernatural, and figured fans of that show would probably enjoy my book. I started making note of who directed my favorite episodes, and then I looked up those directors on Social Media to see if I had anything in common with them.
Guy loves cars, rock and roll, dogs, beer, and is a total greenie. He drives a Tesla, totally supports solar, etc. In short, he seemed like the kind of person I had a lot in common with. The kind of person I'd enjoy getting a beer with. So I sent him a tweet while he was waiting to fly from Canada to LA. He responded, and we struck up a friendly banter.
Fast forward about 9 months. He tweeted out a picture of him holding my book to his ~45k followers.
Totally made my day. Hell, it totally made my year!
He and I are still in touch on Twitter. If I ever get a shot at putting Wisconsin Vamp up on the silver screen, I'll only do it if Guy gets to direct. That will be one of my three requirements.
(The other two are that my friend Kevin gets to have a song in the movie, and that any friend of mine that wants to be a featured extra can be).
What a great idea! I'm about to load my happy mug next to the pic of my book on a bookstore shelf...
Gawd. The pic that springs to mind immediately is my shining RONE Award happy shot - and I was holding the dang certificate upside down!!! Will go hunt it out so you can all laugh at me.
It was a serious moment, believe me. This is why I write comedy - I'm living it. Every day o_O By the time we found the error we were away from the venue with no cool RONE backdrop. (And I was in my PJs and looking way less photogenic ;) )Ana wrote: "Haha, Maggie! That would be a perfectly suited pic!!"

We have an empty photos folder. I declare an opportunity to display your Kodak moments. Let's share photos of your books in their proudest / oddest / most funny moments. Who was the least likely reader you spotted with your book?
