Hi team, looking forward to playing with you! :)
Ezi, as I've noted in my SS team thread, I'll likely be on vacation first or second week of August and will definitely need a vacation pass for this game (for SS, it'll depend on which days of the week we'll be gone, so I can't say for sure yet.). Thank you!

So since I like hearing a bit about everyone else and seeing where we are all from, I'll get that ball rolling. =/I'm 41, live in NC, work nights for the Post Office, divorced with 2 sons still living at home (18 & 20), and read mostly M/M with the occasional M/F and M/M/F thrown in for fun.
Oh, and I am willing to captain. ;)
Krissy wrote: "Not a chatty bunch. Lol"I was just thinking that. I always seem to get the quiet bunch. *sigh*
Chatty? I can do chatty. Well, I can try, anyway. *lol*
So, introductions... I'm 29, originally from Germany but have been living in Tampere, Finland, since 2008, where I'm currently living the immigrant dream jobwise (which is my way of attempting to put a positive spin on "I'm working a crappy cleaning job to pay the bills that I was wildly overqualified for the moment I graduated from highschool."). I've got a lovely boyfriend, 2 mostly lovely cats (when they're not trying to kill me), and a lovely little library I like to sit in muttering "My preciousssss" like a total weirdo. I mostly read... a lot. *lol* Right now I'm having a bit of a sci-fi phase, but that might change at a moment's notice. I also love fantasy of all descriptions, historical fiction, mysteries, M/M romance (especially when combined with any of the aforementioned genres rather then just plain old contemporary romance stories)... and the list goes on. The list of genres I don't read is far shorter than the list of genres I do. Any questions? :D
Yay, finally I'm on a team where somebody else wants to be captain!! This round will be sooo relaxing in comparison to the last several I've played. XD
I think I've exhausted all my passable team name ideas a few rounds back...

My turn I guess. Well... I'm a 34 SAHM and army wife. I have 3 kids (G13, G6, B4). We are currently stationed in Texas. Reading is my only hobby so I read a lot. I will read just about any genre though I read more MM than anything else. Denise, I worked for a cleaning company back in my younger days. For about 4 years. I remember those days fondly. It was also one of the best incomes I've ever had.
I really suck at coming up with names so I'm hoping you guys can spit out a few options and I can sit back and just vote on one of the choices. I'm lazy that way. Lol
Any team names I throw in the pot will be very, very bad. lol! I will give it a go in a bit though. =D
I like Flying Aces!
I'm also gonna throw these in for consideration:
First Choice
Rampant Readers
Gold Medallists
One Book To Rule Them All
(... see what I mean about sucking at coming up with team names?)
Anyone tried to contact Sherlock yet?

I like Rampant Readers on your list and Flying Aces was my favorite of mine. Hopefully the others will weigh in soon.
glad im here! what time will we role the dice?
Sherlock wrote: "glad im here! what time will we role the dice?"I can't find anywhere that it gives a time, just a date. I think we can roll at midnight on Thursday.
You have any input on our team name?
Denise wrote: "We can roll after Midnight US Central time. :)"Thanks Denise. I figured it was something like that.
So Denise, should I just go ahead and use Flying Aces as our team name and assume it's ok for me to be captain. I thought Krissy and Sherlock would have input, but we're down to the end of our time.
Hint about Krissy she is Captaining in the other version. so it should be safe to assume she is OK with you Captaining this team.
You can roll at 12:01a. I can't promise to be up at midnight but I'll try. I'm excited to see book choices.
Amy, will you be up at midnight in order to roll? If not I don't mind rolling for the team. I'm always up at that time
Krissy wrote: "Amy, will you be up at midnight in order to roll? If not I don't mind rolling for the team. I'm always up at that time"Thanks for the offer Krissy. I'm planning to be awake, but if I haven't posted a roll by 12:30 or so, go ahead and roll for me.
Well it could be worse, I guess. lol! I'm usually at work at that time so I shouldn't have a hard time staying awake. Of course, at work I'm not reading while drinking margaritas either. ;)

Week 1: Roll 1
Spot: 3

Book: Career of Evil by Robert Galbraith
Qualification: Cormoran Strike #3
Finished: 16 July 2016
Rating: ★★★★
Review:
The third of J.K. Rowling's mysteries written under the pseudonym of Robert Galbraith begins with a macabre package delivered to private detective Cormoran Strike's office, addressed to his assistant Robin Ellacott. Its contents: A woman's severed leg. Strike quickly comes up with four potential suspects, all men from his past with a history of violence and a grudge against him. With the police promptly focussing on the one person on his list that Strike is almost sure can be ruled out, it is up to him and Robin to investigate the other three in what may be their most dangerous case yet.
A solid thriller with a number of unexpected twists and plenty of suspense, although I have to admit I didn't enjoy it quite as much as the two previous ones. Mostly I just got very, very impatient with Robin and her personal drama. (view spoiler) But well... let's see where that goes in the next book.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>

Week 1, Roll 1Spot: 3 (alternate:Best books of 2015)
Book: Practice Makes Perfect by Jay Northcote
Qualification: Housemates #3
Read: 7/17/16
Rating: 3 stars
Review:
I am a huge fan of Jay Northcote's books. Her writing style just works so well for me. That said, this book didn't quite live up to my expectations going in.
First off, what I liked...Dev, so very much Dev! He is a strange duck, but also awkward and totally adorable. I loved getting his pov. It was sometimes painful to see his struggle to understand the people around him and sometimes very funny. He was sweet and shy in the bedroom, but also unintentionally dirty and occasionally bold. The sex was crazy hot! I enjoyed seeing glimpses of the characters from the previous two books, though that's really all you get.
There were really only 2 things I had issues with. Ewan just didn't do anything for me. I didn't dislike him, he just seemed kind of bland. Also the lack of any real talk between these two drove me nuts. They talked at the beginning to get things rolling, they talked during sex, but once the true feelings started...nothing. Lots of internal dialog going on, but not a word to each other. That's not something that typically bothers me in a book because it is so true to life, at least in my experience. Must be my mood because it bugged the hell out of me here. With as much as I enjoyed the first two books, I'm sure I'll be revisiting this series again at some point. Hopefully I'll enjoy it more next time.

Book-girl on the train
Read- 16/7/16
Rating-5 stars
Review
this book was amazing! i still don't know why i didn't read it till now. the writing style was so gripping and unique and the characters felt so real.
my favorite character was Rachel because of her emotions and how she expressed them. i felt i knew her yet she was so hidden and i loved her way of thinking about the world. how she expressed her dreams and hopes where so breathtaking and i could really feel her pain and as she realized that they couldn't come true. i could really see her struggle and her curiosity. the character was very well built and she is one of the characters that will stick with me for a long time.
in short this is a fantastic book that is very well written and is truly one of the best book of the decade. I am looking forward more of Paula Hawkins writing.
