Laura | 149 comments I'm trying to read more laugh out loud funny books, so would love to hear your recommendations of list books that do that :)

Tasha | 83 comments The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy and Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency. While it wasn't laugh out loud funny Lucky Jim made me chuckle.

Jennifer W | 251 comments I found Wise Children and Everything Is Illuminated humorous, though probably not laugh out loud funny.

Laurence | 21 comments The Life and Opinions of Tristram Shandy, Gentleman by Laurence Sterne definitely has its laugh out loud moments, but it is quite long and sometimes a bit of hard work. (I would definitely recommend it though!)
And one of the recent group reads, Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut was also really funny.

Laura | 149 comments Thanks everyone for your suggestions, looking forward to getting around to them :)

Ella (ellamc) Well it's two years later, but I'd add A Confederacy of Dunces and Infinite Jest and The Buddha of Suburbia and White Teeth off the top of my head. I know there are more though. What many of these titles have in common is while they've got hilarious moments, they also have really sad moments or undertones or just laughs painted on a not-funny canvas. I'm now going to have to look for more funny books on the actual list rather than just my brain.

Kirsten (kmcripn) Any P.G. Wodehouse on the list would qualify!

Claire | 9 comments The World According to Garp is one of my favourites in this category.

Brendan | 8 comments I second The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Is there a link to this list? I couldn't navigate the website at all.

One that should be on it IMO is The Cat Rule Book. That one definitely made me LOL. Have to be a cat person to really appreciate it though.

Jess Penhallow | 37 comments Don Quixote! It's amazing how the humour translates across language and centuries!

Ella (ellamc) And I still haven't looked at the list proper, but currently reading Catch-22, and it certainly qualifies. It's downright silly at times. Another I just read for the first time is A Prayer for Owen Meany and there were parts I read multiple times just to laugh uproariously -- I had tears streaming down my face during one scene I was laughing so hard.
