Let us know what you've been reading in other book groups or the progress you're making on that "to read" pile I know you all have. These books don't need to be NYC bestsellers! Feel free to attach links to your book reviews and take advantage of the spoilers html if you need it.

I am going to start reading The Risen by Ron Rash. I got the chance to hear him in Greenville, SC on the day of the book's release. He read several passages and talked about them. He also took questions from the audience. He is so personable and down-to-earth. His "day job" is teaching at Western Carolina in NC. If you are not familiar with the name, he wrote Serena, which was turned into a bad movie. The book is 1000 times better. I can't wait to start reading it. A librarian who moderates a face-to-face group that I go to said that she could not put it down.
The month is nearly over and I have read almost nothing!!I read The Perilous Gard in the hammock and The Outlander on the plane flying home to Puerto Rico. Since arriving the first week of September I have been running around like a crazy person and seriously slacking on my reading list.
October will be better!!
Barbara wrote: "What do you think of Outlander? Are you up for all 3 of those hefty books?"There are three of them?!?! What else could they write about? I loved the writing itself but was not thrilled by the story line. The supernatural stuff thrown in there never seemed to go anywhere and didn't feel necessary. I'm interested to read more by through author though and maybe it will make sense in later books. I'll have to look into the others in the series!

Feel free to attach..."I just finished The Sunrise by Hislop. I needed a cheat sheet to keep all of the characters straight. It is set in Cyprus during the Turkish invasion. Now that it is November, I am able to start reading The Asylum for our horror theme and The Girl in Cabin 10.
