I've had a huge lack of followers or interactions with my blog. I have over 70 posts and have been blogging for a few years. It wasn't until recently that I started writing about content that could help others and wrote about my experiences and just basic posts about writing, publishing, and even Amazon. Prior to the change and to more in depth topics I think I received 2 comments on the 70 plus posts in 4 years...so I know a thing or two about no followers.
The first thing I would definitely suggest is being yourself when blogging and perhaps browsing others blogs to see what makes there's popular and take some of their techniques and incorporate it into your blog writing. I would also suggest writing about posts that you are passionate about, have interest in and you know a good deal about so that way you not only know what you're talking about but others will go to it and read it. If you can link your blog to Goodreads and Amazon then I'd also suggest that. This is a better way for people to see your blog. I don't get many follows or comments but when I do it's usually from people reading my posts on Goodreads so I get a like or two which isn't much but it makes me feel better knowing people are at the very least reading my posts.
