Mirkat | 57 comments I saw that there is a Booklikes Librarians group at Booklikes, but it appears to be a closed group for BL librarians to confer amongst themselves. I am not sure how to obtain assistance from one, and I seem to recall that at least one person posting here mentioned that she is a librarian over at BL. I did an edit on this book. It looks as though someone had done a very hasty add of Yes Please , resulting in the weird title of "Unti Amy Poehler," no book cover, and scant details. I corrected the title, added a cover image, and filled in missing details such as description, publication date, and length. Upon submitting, I received a message that my edits would be reviewed by Booklikes librarians. Can someone give me an assist on processing this? I really don't want to add it to my currently reading as "Unti Amy Poehler" (the HECK?!?!)

Update: The edit went through. Yay! If the librarian who processed this reads here--thanks! :)

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) Might have been me - I processed a couple of pages of stuff this morning - but I don't remember seeing this particular one, so it might have been someone else who caught it. Either way, I'm a librarian at BL. :)

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (susannag) | 231 comments And we all thank you, and the other librarians!

Saw one yesterday - Hidden Star, by Nora Roberts, is combined with Captive Star (ditto).

Mirkat | 57 comments Yes, a big thank you to all BL librarians. :)

Mirkat | 57 comments Another question for BL librarians. I added an edition and shelved it before I realized that what I was adding an edition onto was not the "main" book record but a splinter edition--so that this edition I've added is in BL as one of just two editions! Is there a procedure for requesting that editions be combined?

Hi Mirkat - You can use the 'report' button on the book's page. From there you just choose "it's a duplicate or needs to be combined with other editions" from the pull down menu, and in the comment box, if you can please include the links to the two books that need to be combined, the librarian who processes it will think warm fuzzy feelings about you as they do it. :) (The system is flawed in that it forces the librarian to open at least 3 additional pages to do the combine; if you include both books' links, we can do it from one page.)

Please feel free to PM me over there (I'm MurderByDeath) if you have any other librarian questions - I'm hardly ever here, but I'm always over there. :)

ETC typos.

Mirkat | 57 comments Should I report from the main book record--or one of the duplicates?

❂ Murder by Death (murderbydeath) Doesn't matter - either one will be fine. But if it's obvious that there is a main book record, you can mention it. There's nothing on the librarian page that specifies which is which, so it's helps us if you note it. :)

Mirkat | 57 comments Ohhhh.... Okay, thanks! :)

Edit: Looks as though a diligent library has already begun to combine records. When I first shelved the book, it was linked to one other edition. In the interim, a couple more have been associated with the title. The hardcover edition was on its own, so I provided a link to its book page.
